Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation Names Francesca Harper As Artistic Director Of The Ailey II Company

Robert Battle, Artistic Director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, announced today that internationally renowned performer, choreographer, director, and multi-disciplinary artist Francesca Harper has been appointed Artistic Director of Ailey II, the Ailey organization's acclaimed company of young dancers. Ms. Harper will assume her duties on September 7, 2021, and will immediately begin preparing for Ailey II's return to the stage.

Seattle Rep today announced its return to the stage with a full season of must-see live theater in both its remodeled Bagley Wright Theater and intimate Leo K. Theater. The season features productions of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale, and more! In-person theater productions at Seattle Rep begin in January 2022 and run through June 2022.

It was announced today that the 160-seat off-Broadway theater located at 555 West 42nd Street (between 10th & 11th Avenues) will reopen this fall rechristened as Theater 555. Unused since the start of the Covid pandemic in March 2020, the theater was the home of the Signature and Pearl Theater Company’s.

The Providence Performing Arts Center has announced the first  Cool Summer Nights concert, which features Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 7:30P. This will be the first live, in-person concert that PPAC has presented since the live entertainment industry shutdown on March 12, 2020.
