Rise and shine, BroadwayWorld! It is January 7, 2026 and it's time to catch up on all of the theatrical happenings you may have missed in the last 24 hours.

In this second part of our in-depth conversation (read Part 1), Jeffrey and Wendy look back on their over three decade career on Broadway and shares stories about some of their favorite shows. 

The Fountain Theatre will present the West Coast premiere of Poetry for the People: The June Jordan Experience, a bold, joyous theatrical celebration of one of America’s most fearless writers and human rights activists.

Phish will return to Sphere in Las Vegas next year for nine shows, set for April 16-18, April 23-25, and April 30-May 2. A ticket request period is now underway and will continue through 9:00 am PT / 12:00 noon ET on Monday, December 8.

While the large majority of plays that make it to Broadway were written in English, a small fraction of plays were originally penned in a different language and translated. 

Joining Emmy and Tony Award-winner Billy Crudup and Olivier Award-winner Denise Gough are Billy Howle, Rosa Salazar, Simon Chandler, James Doherty, Misha Handley, Joshua Hill, Jonah Russell, Rebecca Lee and Tim Steed.

RIVERDANCE 30 - The New Generation, the international Irish dance  phenomenon seen by over 30 million people worldwide, will return to the United States in 2026. Launching in Sarasota,  Florida, the new show, RIVERDANCE 30 - The New Generation, will play in 67 American cities from January to June 2026.  

Soul Coughing is getting the band back together for Soul Coughing Still Loves You, an upcoming series of US headline dates beginning December 5 at Columbus, OH’s Newport Music Hall.

Phish will return to New York City on Sunday, December 28, through Wednesday, December 31, for a four-night New Year’s run at Madison Square Garden. A much-loved New Year’s tradition, this year’s run will bring Phish's total number of shows at The Garden to 91. 

The World Premiere of the play HIGH NOON, starring Emmy and Tony Award-winner Billy Crudup as Will Kane and Olivier Award-winner Denise Gough as Amy Fowler, opens in December.

The Kiss of the Spider Woman, a 2-hour show presented in Spanish with English surtitles, runs through September 28. See here for more details!

Disney’s The Lion King musical is playing in Vancouver, BC for a limited four-week engagement at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre from August 20 to September 14.
