Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces partial casting of August Wilson's Jitney. Tony Award-winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson directs his 2017 Broadway production a?' recipient of the Tony Award for Best Play Revival. Set in the early 1970s, Jitney follows a group of men trying to make a living by driving unlicensed cabs, or jitneys.

This autumn, Candoco Dance Company is to collaborate with internationally renowned choreographer and designer Theo Clinkard and Joe Newman of Mercury Prize winning band alt-J. An unpredictable and anarchic performance set to a pounding, eclectic score, Hot Mess is danced amidst a striking design, as art installation meets dance piece. The explosive new work, by the company that continues to expand perceptions of what dance can be, will mark the first time Newman has written music for the stage.

CHICO'S ANGELS latest episode FLY CHICA FLY will premiere at the Colony Theatre August 1 - 4, 2019. Birthed from the creative minds of Kurt Koehler and Oscar Quintero, CHICO'S ANGELS: FLY CHICA FLY's the eighth episode in their series of hilarious drag parodies of Charlie's Angels, the now classic television series from the late 1970's. After laughing hysterically at a number of their episodes over the years, I finally had the chance to turn the tables on Chita Parol and give her the third degree.

Everyone loves a little nostalgia, especially when it comes to their favorite television shows and movies growing up. For millennials and Gen Z-ers, these probably include a few DCOMs (Disney Channel Original Movie) and series. Several of the stars of these films and TV shows have gone on to further their acting and singing careers on Broadway, and some even got their start on the stage.
