Bach wrote The Brandenburg Concertos for Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schweft and dedicated it to him on March 24, 1721.

Today, the Metropolitan Opera announced its 2020-21 season, the first in which Yannick Nézet-Séguin assumes his full breadth of musical duties as the company's Jeanette Lerman-Neubauer Music Director, conducting six productions. The Yiddishkayt Initiative (YI) (Avi Hoffman, Producing Artistic Director) and Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Artistic Director) have announced the full lineup of events for the inaugural YI Love New York YiddishFest. Theatre for a New Audience presents Fefu and Her Friends, one of the most beloved plays of the late, nine-time Obie Award-winning Cuban-American playwright and director María Irene Fornés. Lileana Blain-Cruz, winner of two Obie Awards (Suzan-Lori Parks' The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World and Jackie Sibblies Drury's Marys Seacole) stages the play in her TFANA directing debut, the first Off-Broadway revival of Fefu and Her Friends since American Place Theatre's 1978 staging.

The Chelsea Symphony's Holiday Concert at 8pm on December 6th, 2019, features the orchestra's annual performance of Aaron Dai's The Night Before Christmas, narrated by actor and comedian Mario Cantone, best known for his role as Anthony on Sex and the City.

Tupelo Community Theatre's 14th annual Haunted Theatre, A Night At The Lyric, will be presented October 18, 19, 25, 26 and 31st from 6 p.m. -11 p.m. at the Lyric Theatre in Downtown Tupelo.  Tickets are $15 each and are available at the door.  The 107 year old Lyric Theatre has a rich past as home  for our resident ghost Antione. 

In September 2019, the Philharmonia Orchestra and Esa-Pekka Salonen present turbulent times with the second half of their series Weimar Berlin: Bittersweet Metropolis at Southbank Centre. This new series, which began in June, is an ambitious journey through the music, science and culture of a period of intense political turbulence and explosive creativity in Germany and beyond.
