The unique musical LMNOP, in which citizens lose their freedoms one letter at a time, is available for license through Samuel French, a Concord Theatricals company, giving theaters and educational institutions the chance to bring this passionate and timely story to audiences across the country.

New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," has announced casting for its 29th season of adult, alternative musical theatre, which opens with the return of the wild, comic rock musical CRY-BABY,  based on the iconic John Waters film, a show which New Line first produced in 2012 in its American regional premiere, running Sept. 26-Oct. 19, 2019. The season continues with the electrifying new rock musical fresh from Broadway, in its regional premiere, HEAD OVER HEELS, a high-energy, adult romp about gender and sexuality, based on a 16th-century novel and using the songs of the 80s rock band The Go-Go's, running March 5-28, 2020. And the season closes with the return of one of New Line's biggest hits, which the New Liners first presented in 2007, the pitch dark satire URINETOWN, the hilarious, outrageous fable of greed, corruption, love, revolution, and urination, running June 4-27, 2020.

HEAD OVER HEELS is playing at the Exit 82 Studio Theater starting on July 12th through August 4th. This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980's all-female rock band The Go-Go's and features a book by Jeff Whitty and adaptation by James Magruder.

Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), is proud to continue its support of the Sundance Institute Film Music and Sound Design Lab for more than two decades. The Lab returns to the Skywalker Sound legendary facilities for the seventh year from July 9-22. This year's international group of fellows include Ho-Ling Tan, Jorge Aragon, Brito Gene Back, Ghiya Rushidat, Aska Matsuyami, Ozie Cargile, Sara Broshofske and Emily Rice, who represent a variety of countries from Cuba, Hong Kong, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the UK and the U.S.A.

On June 21, five boundary-pushing nonfiction film project teams will convene at the Sundance Resort in Utah for the 2019 Documentary Edit and Story Lab, Sundance Institute announced today.

Broadway talents including Desi Oakley (Chicago), Ryann Redmond (Frozen), and Krysta Rodriguez (Spring Awakening) complete the lineup for the next installment of the acclaimed Broadway Sings concert series, honoring the pop superstar Ariana Grande. Cast members from Broadway shows including Moulin Rouge, Head Over Heels, and Summer will sing completely new arrangements of the hits of the Grammy Award winning singer, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra playing original orchestrations of her music.

Four new members were elected to the board of trustees at Westport Country Playhouse, bringing the trustees total to 33, led by Barbara Streicker of Westport, chair.

New York Theater Festival's SUMMERFEST presents Emergency, a modern-day medical musical by father-son creative team Jeff and Jacob Foy, featuring a talented cast of Broadway, Off-Broadway and regional theater performers. This summer Goodspeed Musicals will produce the heartwarming new musical Because of Winn Dixie. This touching tale based on the award-winning novel by Kate DiCamillo will run June 28 - September 1 at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn.

Students will perform in a one-night-only musical UNSTOPPABLE, Tales from the Schoolyard on May 8, 2019 at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture. Students in Haven Kids Rock, the afterschool music program of Mott Haven Academy in the South Bronx, will harness the power of music and the performing arts to explore the themes of immigration, shelter, foster care, family, and more through the lens of their firsthand experiences growing up and coming of age in New York City. Many of the students in Haven Kids Rock are also involved in New York City's child welfare and foster care systems, bringing their own personal experiences to the stage.
