The complete cast has just been announced for the 10th Anniversary Production of ROCK OF AGES, opening this summer at New World Stages (340 W 50th St). Nominated for five Tony Awards during its record-breaking Broadway run, this return engagement begins performances on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 for a 16-week limited run through Sunday, October 6, 2019.

What makes a Broadway theatre? Technically any venue with 500 seats or more, located along Broadway in New York City's Theatre District is a Broadway theatre, and the art that is produced in these special places is widely considered the highest form of theatrical entertainment in the world. Today, forty-one theatres are technically Broadway houses, each with their own rich history. Below, we're giving you the scoop on the life of every one of them!

New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," has announced its 29th season of adult, alternative musical theatre, including the return of the wild, comic rock musical CRY-BABY,  which New Line first produced in 2012 in its American regional premiere, based on the John Waters film, running Sept. 26-Oct. 19, 2019; followed by the electrifying new rock musical fresh from Broadway, in its regional premiere, HEAD OVER HEELS, a high-energy, adult romp about gender and sexuality, based on a 16th century novel and using the songs of the pop group The Go-Go's, running March 5-28, 2020; and the season closes with the return of one of New Line's biggest hits, which the New Liners first presented in 2007, the pitch dark satire URINETOWN, the hilarious, outrageous fable of greed, corruption, love, revolution, and urination, running June 4-27, 2020.

Students will perform in a one-night-only musical UNSTOPPABLE, Tales from the Schoolyard on May 8, 2019 at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture. Students in Haven Kids Rock, the afterschool music program of Mott Haven Academy in the South Bronx, will harness the power of music and the performing arts to explore the themes of immigration, shelter, foster care, family, and more through the lens of their firsthand experiences growing up and coming of age in New York City. Many of the students in Haven Kids Rock are also involved in New York City's child welfare and foster care systems, bringing their own personal experiences to the stage.

In 2016, React Presents partnered with Virgin Hotels Chicago to bring a monthly summertime party to Virgin Hotel's rooftop bar, Cerise. Branded "Daylight Disco," the inaugural event featured Breakbot and the series quickly became a must-do in Chicago. Due to the series' success in Chicago, including the sell-out of all last summer's events, React is proud to announce a partnership to bring "Daylight Disco" to the West Coast via Virgin Hotels San Francisco new rooftop bar, Everdene.  

Nashville audiences will be treated to premieres of Tony Award winners Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton, along with revivals of Once On This Island and My Fair Lady, during the upcoming 2019-20 Broadway at TPAC series, which was revealed last night by TPAC president and CEO Kathleen O'Brien - her final season reveal following a storied 30-year career at the performing arts center - in Andrew Jackson Hall.

Sundance Institute announced today that Jason Blum, Ebs Burnough, Lynette Wallworth and Lisa-Michele Church will join the Institute's Board of Trustees. The new Trustees bring deep experience and broad expertise spanning communications, emerging media, and film production to the Institute's governance, and will work closely with President & Founder Robert Redford, Board Chair Pat Mitchell and Executive Director Keri Putnam.

Compagnia de' Colombari, an international collective of performing artists founded and directed by Karin Coonrod,celebrates the bicentennial of the birth of America's most influential poet, Walt Whitman, with a revival of their acclaimed production More Or Less I Am. Rebel Geniuscrashes physics and love into one another as Albert falls madly in love with Mileva Maric and then risks everything he has to find a perfect Unified Theory of the Universe. Book, music and lyrics by Matthew Puckett; directed by Ovation Award winner Brian Kite; choreographed by Ovation Award winner Dana Solimando; musical direction by Dan Belzer and Jeremy Mann.

There is no chill to be found here! In its first week on Broadway, Be More Chill has set a new record at The Lyceum Theatre. With a gross of $738,383.50, Be More Chill breaks the house record for a seven-performance week. The previous record was held by the 2008 production of Macbeth starring Patrick Stewart, which grossed $584,033.

Atlantic Theater Company is proud to announce that Little Known Facts at Atlantic, a live podcast hosted by Ilana Levine, will be returning as a full series this spring. Little Known Facts at Atlantic was originally presented as a one night only event featuring Atlantic Ensemble member Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson. Following the first event's success, three additional live podcasts have been announced.

Book-It Repertory Theatre [Book-It] announces that Founder and Founding Co-Artistic Director Jane Jones and Founding Co-Artistic Director Myra Platt will step down from their roles at the end of Book-It's 30th season, in the summer of 2020. Over the next year, Book-It plans to hire a new artistic director through a local and national search.

The Weathervane Theatre in Whitefield, NH and Producing Artistic Director Ethan Paulini will expand programming in 2019. The new Interns InConcert Series will kick off with a presentation of the Tony Award winning musical Spring Awakening. Based on the 1891 play by Frank Wedekind, Spring Awakening features Book and Lyrics by Steven Sater and a score by Duncan Sheik. Premiering on Broadway in 2008, it won 8 Tony Awards including Best Score, Best Book and Best Musical. A recent revival was also Tony nominated for Best Musical Revival. Marisa Kirby will direct and choreograph.

Long Island's newest theatrical venue The Argyle Theatre (Mark and Dylan Perlman, Managing Partners; Evan Pappas, Artistic Director) presents the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening, based on the play by Frank Wedekind, with book and lyrics by Steven Sater, music and orchestrations by Duncan Sheik, string orchestrations by Simon Hale, and vocal arrangements by Annmarie Milazzo. Opening Night was Saturday evening, January 19, 2019.
