Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International just announced the licensing availability of Sister Act SR. and The Drowsy Chaperone SR., two new Broadway Senior musicals designed for performance by adults 55+. 

Theatre Under the Stars announced its 86th season, with SISTER ACT and DISNEY'S THE LITTLE MERMAID set to perform at Stanley Park's Malkin Bowl in Vancouver.

San Francisco Opera will present Richard Strauss' ELEKTRA, led by Music Director Eun Sun Kim, in Keith Warner's contemporary museum staging featuring a cast including Elena Pankratova and Elza van den Heever.

“Sister Act” owes its status as a global phenomenon to the iconic Whoopi Goldberg film, but Alan Menken’s stage version of the beloved Hollywood comedy has long since conquered stages all over the world. In its acclaimed West End incarnation, the musical has already been touring German-speaking venues for a third year, presented by production company Showslot, continuing to fill auditoriums all over the country. Both the linguistic adaptation and the technical realization for touring operations across Germany are flawless. The show is nothing short of a gospel of good fun – hallelujah!

The Firehouse Theatre will stage sister Act, featuring Micaela Workman as disco diva Deloris Van Cartier, who goes into hiding at a convent after witnessing a murder, directed by Pamela Anglero.

Chromolume Theatre will present William Finn's ELEGIES: A SONG CYCLE at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, directed by Carol M. Becker, at the Zephyr Theatre in Los Angeles for three performances only.

Caleb A. Barnett will step into the role of Genie in Aladdin on Broadway after making his Broadway debut in the company as the Genie standby in the summer of 2023.
