TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will stream an advance look at tomorrow's hits in New Works Festival Online.

Recorded in 1987, “Sneaky Feelin’“ b/w “Song For Gerard Langley” was recently unearthed by Pale Saints’ Ian Masters and then lovingly remastered by Warren Defever (His Name Is Alive).

Crazy is as crazy does…crazy in the sense of feeling wild about! From this angle, from a Broadway point of view, crazy has been a gold mine for anything Gershwin! Such is the case with Kurtis Overby’s sterling tribute to the prolific brothers, George and Ira, in Arizona Broadway Theatre’s production of CRAZY FOR GERSHWIN. Featuring Liz Fallon, Jamie Parnell, and Carolyn McPhee. Runs through March 21st.

Friday evening I had the pleasure of experiencing a story loosely based on fact of the wonderful Louis Armstrong celebrated Jazz trumpeter and singer. Understandably hesitant at first with the idea of a “Virtual Performance” I sat in the comfort of my home with an open mind willing and ready to experience what was about to be laid forth. I've seen many performances presented by American Stage so I knew the magic would be there, but there is something about the “physical connection” that sort of “...in the room where it happens” that I missed so greatly here. That is not to diminish the understandably beautiful piece in which the fine folks at American Stage presented, and I completely admire their work here as we are all so much in need of live performances.

I thought I’d compile some of the highlights from each show I saw as not only a way for me to remember some pre-COVID times but to also give advice for theatregoers once the West End begins to reopen.

The Nuyorican Poets Café recently partnered with Blended City, LLC to bring a dynamic online rendition of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's 2009 play Rough Magic to audiences around the world. Today Seattle Shakespeare Company announced that due to the ongoing public health crisis, it will cancel all its live productions planned for the theatre’s 30th Anniversary season.  The canceled productions of Volpone and Much Ado About Nothing join the previously announced cancelations of Richard II and Long Day’s Journey into Night.
