Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS today is launching a special online fundraising campaign to create the COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund. This special fund will be administered by The Actors Fund to assist those in the entertainment community a?" onstage and behind the scenes - who are facing health care crises and other immediate needs in the wake of the evolving coronavirus pandemic.

The Landing Theatre Company's New American Voices Playwriting Festival is an annual event showcasing four exceptional plays written by outstanding emerging playwrights from across the United States.

More than a vast departure from The Frogs previous works, it's an arrival at the beginning. It's the “1st” original debut album. Recorded within the realms of time stamped January 1986, presents 12 songs & 8 unreleased bonus tracks. Understanding correctly, “1st” aka “Pat's Session” was intended to be the initial release by brothers Dennis & Jimmy Flemion prior to “The Frogs” 1988 self-titled debut. Minneapolis based Twin/Tone Records (Soul Asylum, The Replacements label at the time) approached The Frogs & expressed fawning interest, extending an invitation to record the band after their 1985, 7th Street Entry live performance (First Avenue's sister club).

REELZ today announced new programming for March 2020 with three new original specials, five new episodes of returning original series Autopsy: The Last Hours of... , the U.S. premiere of documentary ABBA: Secrets of Their Greatest Hits and the REELZ premiere of Dolly Parton: Here She Comes Again! New original special House of Horrors: The Friends Speak explores the Turpin family nightmare in which 13 children were abused by their parents for decades.

Helen Forrester, the author who spawned a genre of gritty, working-class memoir with her book, Twopence To Cross The Mersey, is to be honoured with a blue plaque as part of her 100th birthday celebrations. The unveiling will take place on Friday 21st February at her childhood home in Hoylake on the Wirral Peninsula.

Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC) announced today that it has added three shows to its 2020 lineup-Grammy Award-winning music group Jesse & Joy Live on Thursday, June 25, the return of The Australian Pink Floyd Show on Tuesday, August 18, and legendary comedian and actor John Cleese on Friday, November 6. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, on behalf of all of Broadway, Off-Broadway and the national tours involved in the organization's recent fall fundraising campaign, is awarding $100,000 in emergency grants to support Australia wildfire relief efforts. The grants will help provide immediate assistance to organizations doing vital, lifesaving, on-the-ground work in the region.
