Iceland's Secret Solstice 2019 Announces Phase 2 Lineup With Black Eyed Peas, The Sugarhill Gang, Patti Smith and More

Secret Solstice, Iceland's Midnight Sun music and culture festival, is pleased to present their phase two lineup for its sixth edition this June 21-23, 2019 in Reykjavik, Iceland during 72 hours of non-stop sunlight. Performing in Iceland for the first time, Secret Solstice is honored to welcome legendary hip-hop/pop group Black Eyed Peas. Also announced is the queen of punk rock Patti Smith and Band alongside hip hop icons The Sugarhill Gang with Grandmaster Melle Mel & Scorpio (of the Furious 5). These acts add to previously announced headliners Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, Martin Garrix, Rita Ora and Morcheeba. With 20 new acts including Sólstafir, Vök, Hatari and artists from Iceland's the 101 Boys collective, Secret Solstice is again shaping up to be a standout event on the summer festival calendar in one of the world's most unique and breathtaking corners.

You may be forgiven if the phrase 'romantic getaway' doesn't immediately inspire images of Iceland and, though it features several couples, Steve Yockey's 'Reykjavik' is unlikely to change your mind. What it will do is give a momentary, and at times uncomfortably intimate, glimpse into the relationships of these couples as paths intersect and unwind in the titular city. It is a haunting and disorienting ride you won't want to miss.

AEQUA features a varied constellation of recent chamber pieces including large ensemble works Aequilibria (2014) and Illumine (2016) led by conductor and longtime ICE collaborator Steven Schick; small chamber works Spectra (2017), Sequences (2016), Reflections (2016), and Fields (2016); and Scape (2011) for solo piano performed by champion of Anna's music, Cory Smythe. Physical package includes both CD and Pure Audio Blu- ray with 9.1 Auro-3D, Dolby Atmos 5.1.4, and 5.1 Surround Sound versions, as well as the mShuttle application containing FLAC, WAV, and MP3 audio files.

Daníel Bjarnason To Release New Album COLLIDER on Bedroom Community

Icelandic conductor, curator, and composer Daníel Bjarnason releases his next album, Collider, worldwide on October 26, 2018 on the Bedroom Community label. Collider includes Bjarnason's orchestral works Blow Bright, The Isle is Full of Noises, and Collider and features Bjarnason as both composer and conductor. The album was recorded by the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and The Hamrahlid Choir at the landmark Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik, Iceland while Bjarnason was Artist-in-Residence with the Orchestra in 2015 and 2016. Collider will be available from Bedroom Community digitally (FLAC/WAV/MP3). Christopher Tarnow was Tonmeister and recording producer for the album; it was produced by Valgeir Sigurðsson, with Georg Magnússon as recording engineer, mixed by Sigurðsson and Bjarnason, and mastered by Sigurðsson at Greenhouse Studios.
