In 1996, an original rock musical by a little-known composer opened on Broadway... and forever changed the landscape of American theatre.

The rock musical RENT comes to Mayo Performing Arts Center for three performances, Friday, February 7 at 8 pm and Saturday, February 8 at 2 pm and 8 pm. Tickets are $59-$99. Student rush seats will be available for $20 24 hours prior to the performances.

RENT 20th Anniversary Tour will return to St. Louis due to popular demand. The Broadway musical will play February 21-23 at the Fabulous Fox Theatre.

Broadway in Hawaii announced today that seats in the first rows of the orchestra section will be available for $24.50 for every performance of RENT, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical. It is a RENT tradition to offer discounted rush seating in the first few rows of the orchestra section. This tradition began in 1996 in New York when the show moved to Broadway after a sold-out run in a small downtown theatre. The 20th Anniversary Tour continues the tradition of offering these orchestra seats in every city.

The producers of the RENT 20th Anniversary Tour announced today that single tickets for the upcoming tour engagement in Dallas, presented by Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) and Broadway Across America (BAA), will go on sale Friday, December 13.

A new multi-space, multi-dimensional 42,000 sq. ft. art, entertainment and events destination, Epiphany Center for the Arts, 201 S. Ashland Ave., formerly the iconic Church of the Epiphany, will open this winter. One of the largest cultural venues in the city and a designated Chicago landmark, this architecturally significant property has been acquired in a multi-million-dollar transaction by Chicago Developer David Chase; he along with his wife, Kimberly Rachal have lovingly preserved the historic church and its adjacent buildings. The revitalization and renovation project, which houses artifacts from the church originally built in 1885, will feature three unique event spaces, a café, courtyard and other ancillary spaces to support the visual, performing and culinary arts. Epiphany Center for the Arts will once again become a place for the community to congregate, All for the Good of Art, Entertainment and Events.

Andrew Garfield will star in the Netflix film adaptation of in tick, tick…Boom!, according to Deadline. Lin-Manuel Miranda will make his feature directorial debut on this adaptation of the autobiographical off-Broadway show written by  the late Jonathan Larson.

The Kimmel Center Cultural Campus presents RENT 20th Anniversary Tour, running October 18 a?" 20 at the Merriam Theater, and announces a ticket lottery for every performance, offering a limited number of seats in the first rows of the orchestra section for the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical. These $25 tickets are available for in-person purchases at the Merriam Theater Box Office, located at 250 S. Broad Street, on the day of each performance ONLY, two hours prior to the show. The $25 tickets are limited to two tickets per person, while inventory lasts, Cash only.

Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning masterpiece RENT will return to the National Theatre by popular demand with its 20th anniversary tour production. The musical will run Tuesday, November 12 through Sunday, November 17, 2019, and is the fourth production in the venue's recordbreaking 2019-2020 Broadway at the National season.

San Francisco Playhouse announced casting for the Bay Area premiere of Groundhog Day the Musical, the hit Broadway comedy adapted from the timeless Bill Murray film. Danny Rubin, co-writer of the 1993 film, wrote the book, with music and lyrics supplied by Tony-winner Tim Minchin (Matilda). Susi Damilano will direct the Playhouse production, with music direction by Dave Dobrusky and choreography by Nicole Helfer.

Originally created by RENT composer Jonathan Larson as a solo work, it was revised and revamped by playwright David Auburn and premiered Off-Broadway Since then, the show has had a West End production, an American national tour, two Off-Broadway revivals in and numerous local and international productions.

Bristol Riverside Theatre follows up its season opener, An Act of God, with Kim Wayans and continues its 33rd Season with Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's Broadway hit, Next To Normal. This Tony and Pulitzer winning musical drama about a family coming apart at its center runs October 29 to November 24, 2019. Opening Night is Thursday, October 31 at 7:30pm.
