I don’t know if Peggy Lee ever performed in Del Ray Beach but last night Ann Hampton Callaway masterly brought the music and life of the sultry-voiced Jazz singer of ‘Fever’ to a packed audience in the Arts Garage.  The patrons were in for an added treat as Ann, who is also a gifted pianist accompanied herself for this engagement.

Ann Hampton Callaway grew up influenced by the artistry of Peggy Lee. But the legend left a greater impression on AHC than just her work as a singer-songwriter, and this new act shows it.

Tony Award nominee Ann Hampton Callaway, one of the leading pop/jazz singers of our time, has created an exciting night of songs and stories in celebration of her inspiration and one of America's most beloved artists, Peggy Lee. On the heels of Ann's Streisand Songbook symphonic triumph, this show celebrates the 100th birthday of the trailblazing woman who gave the world “Fever” through six decades of iconic songs from sultry to sizzling.

Hear Ann Harada, Deb Radloff and Devin Ilaw perform the title song from hilariously dark new musical, The New Peggy, featuring book & lyrics by Drew Larimore and music & lyrics by Larson Award-winner J. Oconer Navarro, produced by the Micro Musical Theatre Show.

THE NEW PEGGY, the new musical by Drew Larimore (Book & Lyrics) and Jonathan Larson Award Winner J. Oconer Navarro (Music & Lyrics) will be performed at Manhattan's Green Room 42 during a July 16 concert reading.

(UMC) will launch its 2014 developmental reading series at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts with a special presentation of Peggy-Ann, the hit 1926 musical comedy with a book by Tony Award winner Herbert Fields (Annie Get Your Gun) and a score by the legendary songwriting team of Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart (Pal Joey, On Your Toes). The reading, directed by Ben West (Unsung Carolyn Leigh, The Fig Leaves Are Falling, At Home Abroad), will be held Thursday, May 22 at 2:30 PM in the Bruno Walter Auditorium.
