Houston-based Splice Records' Americana musician Arthur Yoria premieres the music video for his track, 'Lagarto,' with VENTS Magazine  here. The track is from Yoria's new album 'After You,' set to be released on Saturday, March 31. Although he is a Chicago native, Arthur Yoria has traveled all over the country and internationally, making music and exploring various cultures and sounds for over a decade. After a brief hiatus he is ready to unveil his latest project. Henry + The Invisibles Releases Summer Beat Tape 'Beatz The Heat'

Austin's very own 'One Man Funk Band' Henry + The Invisibles (Henry Roland) has independently released his entirely instrumental beat tape 'Beatz The Heat.' You can stream the tape on Spotify and Apple Music  as well as here. Inspired by Beat Scene producers like J Dilla and Madlib, 'Beatz the Heat' contains 14 brand new funk and soul-filled tracks that pair perfectly with the summer vibes; whether at the beach, the pool or on a bike ride down the boardwalk, this tape will be the idyllic summer sound to groove to. Henry single-handedly produced, edited and performed live instruments on the tape. There will be an official CD release party on Tuesday, June 26 at One-2-One Bar, located at 1509 S. Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas 78704. Tickets are free, but capacity is limited. For more information on the show see here. There will be an official 'Beatz The Heat' vinyl release this July 2018, with more information to be announced. 'PLAY' is a two part mini-documentary, directed by Dave Grohl, celebrating the rewards and challenges of dedicating one's life to playing music. Part one opens with narrated behind the scenes discussion of the love of playing music and the lifelong relationship with an instrument—as well as the process and challenges of recording and filming this unique performance: The “PLAY' film then segues to the titular 23-minute, one-man-band instrumental recording on which Grohl plays all seven instruments on the track, all live. The entire song was played by Grohl, each time on a different instrument, live all the way through for 23 minutes. (more...)

Dean Wareham (Galaxie 500, Luna) and Cheval Sombre will release their 'western dreampop'  LP, Dean Wareham Vs. Cheval Sombre, on October 26 via Double Feature Records.  Today they share the first single, 'Wayfaring Stranger ' which premiered viaStereogum who note, 'Wareham and Sombre's take on the tune moves with a slow, trembling hum. Wareham's voice carries the wistful depression of a traveler. The song's production feels both vintage and contemporarily dreamy.' Of the accompanying video directed by Jonathan Bree (Brunettes) Wareham notes, 'Jonathan is one of my favorite musical artists, and has made some slyly funny videos the last couple of years. He shot the video for 'Wayfaring Stranger', and suggested that I should wear Wayfarer sunglasses. I was too scared to ride a real horse so we made a pretend-horse from a stool and a pillow.'   (more...)
