Maine State Music Theatre (MSMT) is proud to conclude its 2025 mainstage season with one of the most celebrated musicals in American theatre history - West Side Story, running August 6–23 at the Pickard Theater.

The Hangar Theatre has revealed casting and creative team details for its regional premiere production of Waitress, running July 11–19, 2025, in Ithaca, New York. Featuring music and lyrics by Grammy winner Sara Bareilles and a book by Jessie Nelson, the show is adapted from the 2007 film written by Adrienne Shelly.

The Board of Directors of the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts has elected David G. Lambert as Board Chair starting July 1, 2025. Mr. Lambert succeeds Sherry Barrat, who served as Board Chair for the past three years.

It’s so satisfying to see a musical that resonates emotionally with an audience, and Waitress is one of those musicals. From the writing to the performance, the entire audience was held rapt for the entire 2 1/2 hours, staying right with the performers as they traversed this well told story. There were gasps, applause, and exclamations of support, and a well deserved standing ovation at the end of it all. MTWichita told this story exceedingly well.

At its heart, WAITRESS celebrates the dreams that refuse to stay buried, the courage to reimagine your life, and the friends who believe in you when you don’t believe in yourself. I loved every minute of this excellent production.

The Gilded Age is back for Season 3, and with it, a new and returning crop of Broadway talent. The New York-based costume drama is known for its vast array of theater actors, utilizing a total of 163 across its three seasons. Theatre Raleigh has announced that Broadway star Alyssa Fox will lead its summer production of 'Waitress' as Jenna, the fearless and big-hearted baker at the center of this beloved musical. The show runs August 6–24, 2025, at the De Ann S. Jones Theatre in North Raleigh.

The Cover of Life, by R.T. Robinson, is based on his family’s true story about three women and their struggle for self-worth in rural Louisiana in 1943. Tood, Weetsie and Sybill each married a Cliffert brother who are engaged in World War II. A local reporter with the Louisiana Times Picayune writes story about these young wives, which piques the interest of Life Magazine’s Henry Luce. Luce assigns Kate Miller to the story, who has been covering the war in Europe. Kate spends a week with the Cliffert women to cover their life while the men are away, and unexpectedly explores the reality of the women as they struggle to find their own identity.  The piece is so well written, with complex characters working through intricate relationships, delicious subtext, prose filled with images and powerful emotions, strong rhythm, and subtle humor.

The Arts Club Theatre Company's production of Waitress is coming to the historic Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage. Ashlie Corcoran directs this uplifting Broadway musical.

Today’s subject Carolee Carmello is a performer of epic proportions to be sure. Her career has thus far included turns on Broadway, national tours, regional theatres, and on several recordings. Currently she is playing the title role in the national tour of the Tony Award winning musical Kimberly Akimbo. The tour will be at the National Theatre from May 20th through June 1st.

The new musical Goddess can currently be seen in its New York premiere production at the Public Theater on Lafayette Street. Directed by the Public’s associate artistic director and resident director Saheem Ali, who is currently Tony Award-nominated for directing Buena Vista Social Club, Goddess is playing at the Public’s largest space by capacity, the Newman Theatre.
