Toney Brown has fashioned an experimental play based on 'A Crack Up at the Race Riots' by Harmony Korine. The play meditates on the Artaudian notion of psychology and suicide, focusing on how the term 'mad' is thrust upon those who dare to speak unbearable truths to society. Cast Announced for PERFECT ARRANGEMENT

Full casting was announced today for Pride Films and Plays' Chicago premiere of PERFECT ARRANGEMENT by Associate Artistic Director Derek Van Barham, who's directing the production. In Topher Payne's comedy, it's 1950, and new colors are being added to the Red Scare. Two U.S. State Department employees, Bob and Norma, have been tasked with identifying sexual deviants within their ranks. There's just one problem: Both Bob and Norma are gay, and have married each other's partners and moved next door to each other as a carefully constructed cover. Inspired by the true story of the earliest stirrings of the American gay rights movement, madcap classic sitcom-style laughs give way to provocative drama as two "All-American" couples are forced to stare down the closet door. Theatre Puget Sound (TPS) and the Gregory Awards announced today that critically-acclaimed writers and performers Justin Huertes and Sara Porklalob will host the 9th Annual Gregory Awards, live at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall at the Seattle Center on Monday, October 23 (7:30pm). This will be both Huertes and Porkalob's first time hosting the Gregory Awards, though neither are new-comers to the award ceremonies. Huertes is a 2015 two-time winner for his work Lizard Boy, while Porkalob was a featured performer in last year's ceremony. (more...)
