GLAAD, the world's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, today announced that it will honor award-winning actress, producer, and activist Judith Light with the Excellence in Media Award at the 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York. GLAAD also announced that Lilly Singh, openly bisexual executive producer and host of NBC's a?oeA Little Late with Lilly Singh,a?? will serve as host of the Awards, which will take place at the Hilton Midtown in New York on Thursday, March 19. GLAAD previously announced that Ryan Murphy will receive the Vito Russo Award at the New York ceremony.

Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, Gavin Kalin Productions, and Hal Luftig announced today the complete cast for the first-ever New York revival of Neil Simon's classic comedy about marriage, Plaza Suite, in a production directed by Tony Award® winner John Benjamin Hickey.

This February, Lincoln Center will present a plethora of music, dance, theater, and panel events across the campus and beyond. David Rubenstein Atrium continues to offer free programming, consisting of diverse live performances, and panel conversations. The 2019-20 season of LC Kids (October 5a?"June 7, 2020) is in full swing with free and ticketed events developed for toddlers, children, and teenagers stepping into young adulthood. The ongoing Great Performers series (October 29a?"May 16, 2020) brings an array of beloved musicians and up-and-coming artists to the Lincoln Center stage. American Songbook (January 22a?" February 29) concludes its latest season with artists performing Broadway, folk, classical, and more. 

The cast of Jagged Little Pill, will celebrate the Atlantic Records release of their original cast recording, 'JAGGED LITTLE PILL (ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING),' with an in-store performance and signing at Barnes & Noble Upper Eastside (150 East 86th Street) at 4:30 pm on Friday, January 24th.

Sundance Institute will gather 25 celebrated and revered expert voices across film, art, culture and science to award feature-length and short films shown at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival with 31 prizes, announced at a ceremony February 1. Short Film Awards will be announced at a separate ceremony on January 28. The Festival takes place January 23 through February 2 in Park City, Salt Lake City and Sundance, Utah.

TADA! Youth Theater will celebrate its 35th Anniversary Gala. This year's honorees are Jason Robert Brown and Georgia Stitt, and the TADA! Gala will be hosted by Tituss Burgess.

On Tuesday, December 17th Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater reveals the company premiere of Camille A. Brown's City of Rain. This quietly lyrical piece honors the struggles and grace of a deceased friend, showing a different facet of the choreographer than Ailey audiences have seen in her previous works for the Company. Dedicated to Greg 'Blyes' Boomer, the work for 10 dancers is set to an original composition by Jonathan Melville Pratt entitled Two Way Dream. A recipient of numerous honors, including a 2014 Bessie Award for Outstanding Production for the work Mr. TOL. E. RAncE (Camille A. Brown & Dancers), Ms. Brown choreographed Broadway's Choir Boy (TONY nominee for Best Choreography), the TONY Award-winning revival of Once On This Island, and the Emmy Award-winning television special, Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert. What: Houston Grand Opera and world-renowned tenor Lawrence Brownlee bring together international stars J'Nai Bridges, Nicole Heaston, Reginald Smith Jr., Russell Thomas, Nicholas Newton and Kevin Miller (piano) for a one-night only concert event. 'Giving Voice: Lawrence Brownlee and Friends Sing Opera, Gospel, and Standards' was created to celebrate Houston's diverse community and showcases the power of voice and song. The intimate evening was the brainchild of Brownlee and Houston Grand Opera is proud to support this initiative. During the concert, audiences will be treated to a program that ranges from opera classics, to spirituals, gospel, and standards.
