SheNYC Arts announced eight original full-length plays and musicals selected for the 2026 SHENYC SUMMER THEATER FESTIVAL, chosen from hundreds of global submissions through a blind review process, set to run at the Lynn F. Angelson Theatre in New York.

The Tanglewood Popular Artist Series, which each year brings a star-studded lineup of musicians and performers to Tanglewood’s Koussevitzky Music Shed, continues to expand its 2026 summer season with the addition of Jon Stewart among a roster of major artists across genres including rock, country, pop, Broadway, and soul.

Recently, Michael’s production of the new play, Incitation of the Dance, opened at Theatre West. Its title Inspired by Gene Kelly's 1956 film; Invitation to the Dance, this dark comedy explores the complexities of older gay relationships—described by one critic as a 'gay gray play.' Cory Stearns, a Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre since 2011, will retire from the Company following performances of Onegin during the 2026 Summer season.

An embarrassment of theatrical riches, bordering on sensory, stimulating overload, is on display in an exceptionally bold and satisfying reimagining of the very influential musical Pal Joey—now reconceived as Chez Joey. The show still takes place in the 1940’s Chicago music/nightclub scene, but it has been opened up to explore potent possibilities that are realized in this production.
