Tennessee Williams found fame with 1944’s “The Glass Menagerie,” which is considered to be one of the gifted playwright’s most notable works along with “A Streetcar Named Desire, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” and “Sweet Bird of Youth.” That status is being affirmed once again by the magnificent production of the drama now at Gloucester Stage through June 28.

Dylan Godwin is one of the resident company members of the Alley Theater who just opened THE GLASS MENAGERIE and is playing Tom. This part is one of his dream roles, so Broadway World writer Brett Cullum jumped at the chance to ask him how it feels to have a dream come true and find out what it is like working at Alley Theatre.

The story involves the production of a musical version of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew and the conflict on and off-stage between Fred Graham, the show's director, producer, and star, and his leading lady, his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi.

Battery Dance will celebrates the 42nd Anniversary of its free summer festival from August 12-18, 2023, in partnership with Battery Park City Authority. The SHU Community Theatre presents a month of film programming in December. This month's highlights include sing-along screenings of Disney's Frozen and Frozen II on Dec. 30, and a Q&A with the filmmaker of Santaman, after the Dec. 18, screening of the new holiday film.

Organizers of the GI Film Festival San Diego are thrilled to announce a diverse film lineup for its annual event happening May 17-21, 2022 at the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) in Balboa Park. The film festival is dedicated to presenting films and events for, by and about military and veterans, and is set to return to in-person screenings for the first time since 2019. In 1944, MGM debuted a new family classic for the ages, the beloved movie musical, Meet Me In St. Louis. Starring Judy Garland, the film plays host to numerous classic songs including its title ditty, 'The Trolley Song,' and 'The Boy Next Door,' but out of all the gems that make up its score, no song has had more impact than, 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.'
