National Alliance for Musical Theatre has announced the line-up of new musicals for their 33rd Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS on Thursday October 20 and Friday, October 21, 2021. This year, NAMT ‘s Festival of New Musicals will be presented as a unique digital and in-person hybrid, allowing wider accessibility for attendees.

Acis will present ARE WOMEN PEOPLE? - THE SONGS OF LORI LAITMAN, an album of new music with the issue of women's suffrage at its core. New York Tribune's ALICE DUER MILLER (1874-1942) ran her column, 'Are Women People?' from 1914-1917, greatly influencing public opinion about the participation of women in democracy.

The remainder of the concert's program is devoted to two master orchestrators Elgar and Tchaikovsky. Elgar's Sospiri (Sighs) was composed in 1914 on the eve of World War I, and reflects the mood of the times with its melancholy intensity. Tchaikovsky drew inspiration for his Serenade from Mozart, but the work ends with decidedly Russian exuberance.

On May 20, 2021 at 7 pm, actor Tony Danza, Police Athletic League Board member and former PAL kid, will host a special event, NYPD COPS VERSUS NEW YORK CITY PAL KIDS in a Virtual Talent Show to be judged by the rest of the “Taxi” cast including Danny DeVito.
