Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre kicks off 2023 with Shakespeare 70s production of Oscar Wilde's “An Ideal Husband” weekends January 20 through 29. Kelsey Theatre is located on the Mercer County Community College campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road in West Windsor. 

Opera Philadelphia returns to the Academy of Music stage Feb. 3 and 5, 2023, gathering nearly 200 performers from the company's Chorus and Orchestra for a concert of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and Margaret Bonds' Credo, pairing one of classical music's most recognizable choral works with a rarely performed masterpiece. The concert marks both the Philadelphia premiere of Credo and the company debut of a rising star, conductor Lina González-Granados.

New York Classical Theatre and Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will present the Off-Broadway premiere of the new play The Rewards of Being Frank, written by Alice Scovell and directed by New York Classical’s Stephen Burdman.

The Museum of Russian Icons presents a 'Day of Ballet,' featuring tours of  the exhibition Swan Lake: 145 Years of History and Triumph, ballet demonstrations, family activities and a dance workshop, on Saturday, January 14, from 12-2pm.  On Saturday, January 28, the Museum presents a Birch Tea Lecture and Ceremony, held in conjunction with the exhibition Tree of Life: Birch Through the Ages.

Dutch National Ballet will present the first night of the full-length ballet classic Swan Lake on Wednesday 22 March. In total, seventeen performances of the production will be given in the period from 22 March 2023 to 18 April 2023.

On Friday, February 3, 2023, GRAMMY Award-winning Catalyst Quartet will release UNCOVERED Volume 3: George Walker, Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, William Grant Still on Azica Records.

Diablo Ballet's 29 th season continues with a mixed bill titled Swan Lake Suite, featuring selections from the classic ballet staged by Sean Kelly performed to Pyotr Tchaikovsky's majestic score. Diablo Ballet's Suite includes the White Swan Pas de deux, Black Swan Pas de deux, First Act Pas de trois, czardas, variations and grande finale. Originally choreographed by Marius Petipa in 1895, this classic ballet will be staged for the full company.

Reprising their roles from the run at the Young Vic are Raphael Bushay (Mike), Arthur Darvill (Curly McLain), James Patrick Davis (Will Parker), Stavros Demetraki (Ali Hakim), Greg Hicks (Andrew Carnes), Rebekah Hinds (Gertie Cummings), Anoushka Lucas (Laurey Williams), Marie-Astrid Mence (Lead Dancer), Liza Sadovy (Aunt Eller) and Patrick Vaill (Jud Fry).

Like Wilde, Denzel Westley-Sanderson, winner of the RTST Sir Peter Hall Award for young directors, pushes boundaries and brings fresh ideas to the social comedy: an all-black cast, a drag queen as Lady Bracknell and a lesbian twist.
