New LGBTQ Arts Nonprofit Kicks Off Inaugural Performance Event

NOGO Arts announces its inaugural production, Untether, featuring the work of seven LGBTQ identified artists over three nights at the Muriel Schulman Theater at Triskelion Arts. Co-sponsored by Triskelion Arts, Untether brings visual arts, contemporary dance, solo performance, and puppetry together to celebrate the individual free from convention and expectation. Untether releases itself from traditional presentations of work. Comic strip-memoirs are performed, puppets hold forth on life and dreams, love letters are delivered (or not), bodies are remembered, and Family Secrets revealed throughout the evening length performance. Bi-Coastal Production of FOOL FOR LOVE Comes to Theater for the New City

Beetlebung Road LLC, a new theater production company, will launch November 15 to December 9 with a bi-coastal production of Sam Shepard's 'Fool for Love,' to be presented November 15 to December 2 by Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave., Manhattan and December 6 to 9 by The Lounge Theatre, 6201 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles.  The production, directed by Kymberly Harris, will arise from a careful artistic process of immersion on many levels.  The company chose to debut at Theater for the New City (TNC) as part of that process: to honor and recapture the path of Shepard's 'Buried Child,' which was commissioned by TNC and premiered there in 1978. Michael V. Gazzo's play premiered on Broadway in 1955, and was adapted into a popular film starring Don Murray and Eva Marie Saint in 1968. Considered shocking and groundbreaking at the time in its unflinching portrayal of issues such as veteran health care scandals and opioid abuse, this classic drama seems even more relevant today. The Warner Stage Company will open their 2018-19 Season with one of Agatha Christie's most ingenious murder mysteries - THE UNEXPECTED GUEST. Performances will be held in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre September 23-30, 2018. Lost in the fog, a stranger seeks refuge in a nearby house only to find a man shot dead and his wife standing over him with a smoking gun. But the woman's dazed confession is anything but convincing and the unexpected guest decides to help. Remarkably, the police clues point to a man who died two years previously but as the ghosts of a past wrong begin to emerge, a tangled web of lies reveals Family Secrets and chilling motives, where the real murderer turns out to be the greatest mystery of all.
