The Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre, Inc. has announced its 18th season. MET, renown for producing Masterwork and Contemporary Classics, will present three plays and two musicals for the 2022-2023 season.

The cast has been announced for the Roundabout Underground world premiere of the bandaged place by Harrison David Rivers. The cast includes Stephanie Berry as “Geraldine Irby,” Jake Ryan Lozano as “Sam Yates,” Sasha Camille Manuel as “Ella Irby,” Anthony Lee Medina as “Ruben Torres,” Jhardon Dishon Milton as “Jonah Irby.”

Theater for the New City's award-winning Street Theater Company will open its 2022 annual tour Saturday, August 6 with 'Teacher! Set in a near-future dystopian Gotham, a severe 20-year drought has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens are forced to use public 'amenities' now, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. In this nightmare world, the punishment for an unauthorized pee is a trip to the dreaded Urinetown. But from the ruins of Democracy and courtesy flushes, there rises an unlikely hero who decides he's held it long enough, and he launches a People's Revolution to lead them all to urinary freedom!

The majesty and magic of Ella Fitzgerald performing live is brought to vivid life in the new animated video for the incredible, one-of-a-kind performance of her beloved tune, “Cheek To Cheek,” recorded live at the Hollywood Bowl on August 16, 1958 with a full orchestra, conducted and arranged by Paul Weston.

Ella Fitzgerald Sings The Irving Berlin Songbook, The First Lady Of Song performed selections from that album live at the Hollywood Bowl. Conducted and arranged by Paul Weston, who also arranged and conducted the studio sessions, this concert marked the only time that Ella performed these iconic arrangements live with a full orchestra.

On May 20 post-punk band Savage Republic will release their new album Meteora in North America via Mobilization Recordings. Today the band is pleased to share the official video for 'Nothing At All,' the latest track to be lifted from their upcoming release.
