Fans of the performing arts can choose from seven “Broadway at Overture” titles―including four Madison premieres―and more than 30 other national and international shows, including three Cabaret performances, four National Geographic Live shows and a new musical experience, “Up Close.”

 Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will return to Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts’ David H. Koch Theater June 15-19, 2022, for a six- performance engagement that caps a decade of Artistic Director Robert Battle’s leadership.

From April 28-30, Gibney Center will present the world premiere of up against, a new work by acclaimed performer Jennifer Nugent. Through invitation, memory, movement, text, and sound, Nugent's up against emphasizes physical resonance.

Wanda Sykes is an Emmy winning stand up comic, writer, actress and producer who has been entertaining audiences for over twenty years. She has ranked among Entertainment Weekly's “25 Funniest People in America” and her peers have called her “one of the funniest stand-up comics” in the field. She will be returning to DPAC on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, has announced Federal Hall: The Democracy Project with Larissa FastHorse, Michael R. Jackson, and Bruce Norris on April 4, 2022 at 7:30pm at the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Peter B. Lewis Theater at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

Emerging Artists Theatre has announced the line-up for the second week of their bi-annual New Work Series. The three-week festival runs March 21 to April 10 and showcases new musicals, dance pieces, solo shows and plays. Over 50 productions will be presented.

On April 9, Angélique Kidjo will bring her Remain in Light tour to Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, playing songs from her 2018 album that reimagined the 1980 Talking Heads album “Remain in Light.”

Baryshnikov Arts Center will present the New York premiere of Minneapolis-based choreographer and dancer Ashwini Ramaswamy’s Let the Crows Come, an experimental Bharatanatyam work, and a “Best of Dance 2021” selection by The Washington Post. Performances will take place Wednesday–Friday, April 13–15, at 8pm, at BAC’s Jerome Robbins Theater, 450 West 37th Street, in Manhattan.
