Jacob's Pillow announces that internationally sought-after Colombian-Belgian choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa is the recipient of the 2019 Jacob's Pillow Dance Award.

Sono Luminus announces the April 26, 2019 worldwide release of Edge of Youth, the first album on the label from violinist Janet Sung, hailed by The Washington Post for her “riveting” playing and “exquisite tone.” Edge of Youth, with pianist William Wolfram, includes music for solo violin and violin and piano by Georges Enescu, Missy Mazzoli, Benjamin Britten, Dan Visconti, and Gabriel Prokofiev. The album was produced by Dan Merceruio and recorded, mixed and mastered by Daniel Shores, at Sono Luminus' world-class studio, located in a former church in Boyce, Virginia.

Parity Productions, the New York based theater company dedicated to producing new work and filling at least 50% of the creative positions (playwrights, directors, and designers) with women and/or trans and gender nonconforming (TCNG) artists, has announced the full cast and crew for their world premiere production of Charlie's Waiting by Melisa Annis, Parity's 2017 Commission Winner, as well as an extension of the run. Charlie's Waiting will now play March 28 through April 20 at Theaterlab (357 W 36th St, New York, NY 10018) hosted by TLab Shares. The cast is led by Tony nominee Xanthe Elbrick (Broadway: Coram Boy, Candida), and features Stephanie Heitman (A Snowfall in Berlin), and Amy Scanlon (Balladeers Play to the Moon) and is directed by Parity Productions Artistic Director, Ludovica Villar Hauser.

The live two-hour event airs Thursday, March 14 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.  The sixth annual iHeartRadio Music Awards will also air live on iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide and iHeartRadio, the all-in-one digital music, podcast, on demand and live-streaming radio service.

The production will play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from February 5-March 10, 2019.

Partly because of the many film adaptations, Mary Shelley's modern myth about an idealistic, but arrogant scientist and his 'Creature' still clearly fires the collective imagination, and the expectations of Mark Grey's opera of the same name were running high. However, three seasons later La Monnaie is now more than ready to bring this production to life. All eyes are on the Polish-Lebanese conductor Bassem Akiki and the Spanish director lex Oll .

One of Japan's most prolific independent animation artists, Tomoyasu Murata (b. 1974, Tokyo) has steadily created breathtaking, boundary-breaking stop motion animated films over the last two decades. Inspired by the expressive power of traditional Japanese bunraku puppet theater, Murata's films—at once tender, whimsical and mysterious—deal with themes of memory, absence andmujo (the Buddhist concept of impermanence) through the cinematic manipulation of his meticulously handcrafted puppets and fantastical miniature sets.

In Hartford Stage's presentation of the world premiere of Samuel Baum's play THE ENGAGEMENT PARTY, things begin in this typical fashion, but with one unexpected event, quickly devolve into a dramatic, captivating, and revealing evening that will change the lives of those present forever.

WAITRESS is a 2015 musical with music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles and a book by Jessie Nelson, which is based on the 2007 film of the same name, written by Adrienne Shelly. It tells the story of Jenna Hunterson (Christine Dwyer), a waitress in an abusive relationship with her husband Earl (Matt DeAngelis). When Jenna unexpectedly becomes pregnant, she begins an affair with her gynecologist, Dr. Jim Pomatter (Steven Good). Looking for a way out, she sees a pie contest and its twenty thousand dollar grand prize as her only chance.

In an unprecedented partnership, The Catastrophic Theatre and the University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance will co-present a visiting production of WAKEY, WAKEY, created by Hyde Park Theatre (HPT) in Austin, TX. HPT Artistic Director Ken Webster directs the show and stars as Guy alongside co-star Rebecca Robinson. Playwright Will Eno will be in residence in Houston during the first weekend of performances. WAKEY, WAKEY is presented in a very limited run at the Jos Quintero Theatre at the University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance. The play opens January 24th and runs through February 3rd.
