The contemporary dance company also presents the West Coast Premiere of Resolve by the L.A.-based choreographic duo Wewolf, comprised of b-boy influencer Rubberlegz and dancemaker James Gregg, which brings heart-pumping electronic dance music to life through an intricate and unique movement style; a reprise performance Matthew Neenan's A Million Voices which had its World Premiere at the company's Wallis debut in 2018; and the U.S. Premiere of psycho-dance-drama (d)elusive minds by Nederlands Dans Theater 2 Artistic Director Fernando Hernando Magadan. The program reflects BODYTRAFFIC's commitment to presenting master works by international choreographic superstars as well as repertoire that represents the strength of the Los Angeles dance scene through works by established and rising local choreographers. A talk-back with members of the company immediately follows the performance on September 28.

AXIS Dance Company is thrilled to announce its first international commission under the direction of Artistic Director Marc Brew as the headliner of its 2019 Home Season, In·ter·twine: Alice in Californiland from renowned choreographer Arthur Pita. The inspiration is "the theme of homelessness mashed up with the story of Alice in Wonderland, where we will try to delicately find our way into both those portholes with these characters," says Pita. "What we are attempting here is difficult, yes, but that is the job of art, and we want it be hard-hitting, moving, humorous, entertaining and poignant."

GRAMMY-nominated vocal quartet New York Polyphony today announces the release of its latest album Peñalosa - Lamentationes, outFriday, September 6, 2019 on BIS Records (BIS-2407 SACD). The album features rarely heard works from late 15th-century and early 16th-century Spanish composers Francisco de Penalosa, Pedro de Escobar, and Francisco Guerrero, including world premiere recordings of Peñalosa's Lamentations and movements of his Missa L'homme arme.

The Tank will present their third annual Lady Fest, featuring new work by some of the most exciting lady-identified artists out there, in celebration of womxnhood and the female voice, in all its glory.

New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," has announced casting for its 29th season of adult, alternative musical theatre, which opens with the return of the wild, comic rock musical CRY-BABY,  based on the iconic John Waters film, a show which New Line first produced in 2012 in its American regional premiere, running Sept. 26-Oct. 19, 2019. The season continues with the electrifying new rock musical fresh from Broadway, in its regional premiere, HEAD OVER HEELS, a high-energy, adult romp about gender and sexuality, based on a 16th-century novel and using the songs of the 80s rock band The Go-Go's, running March 5-28, 2020. And the season closes with the return of one of New Line's biggest hits, which the New Liners first presented in 2007, the pitch dark satire URINETOWN, the hilarious, outrageous fable of greed, corruption, love, revolution, and urination, running June 4-27, 2020.

Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Norbert Leo Butz, Dale Dickey, Eddie Marsan, Bailey Noble and Katheryn Winnick have joined the cast of Flag Day, directed by Sean Penn and starring his children Dylan and Hopper, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Celebrating its 37th anniversary, Outfest - the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization promoting equality by creating, sharing, and protecting LGBTQ stories on the screen - today announced the complete programming lineup for the 2019 Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival, presented by HBO. The nation's leading LGBTQ festival will be held July 18-28, 2019.

WABC-TV, the No. 1 broadcast station in the U.S., announced that one of the most popular weather forecasters in New York City history, Sam Champion, is joining its weekday morning and noon teams as weather anchor. The fun of an evening such as this week's 'Michael Kahn & Friends, Off the Record: The Lansburgh Years, 1992-2007' derives from the relaxed, unscripted content provided by those who usually offer scripts to an audience. The three actors and one former administrative colleague who joined Kahn at the Harman Wednesday to visit memory lane required little prompting by moderator Tom Story to recall and reminisce about their work with the Shakespeare Theatre Company during the Lansburgh Years. Once Story asked each to remember his/her first meeting with Michael Kahn, a series of photos of past productions drove the evening of anecdotes.

William Branner (National Tour: Bat Out Of Hell, Off-Broadway: Kragtar: An American Monster Musical) joins the cast to star as Tony, replacing the previously announced CJ Eldred.
