Brendan Coyle To Star In A Revival Of Conor McPherson's ST. NICHOLAS At Goodman Theatre

Goodman Theatre adds to its 2018/2019 Season a limited engagement of St. Nicholas-an internationally-acclaimed major revival by London's Donmar Warehouse of Conor McPherson's 1997 intimate thriller, directed by Simon Evans. The monologue play stars Olivier Award-winning actor Brendan Coyle ("Mr. Bates" of the smash sensation Downton Abbey, for which he earned an Emmy Award nomination) in "a superlative, mesmerizing performance that's simply not to be missed" (The Arts Review). The U.S. premiere, which appears in the Goodman's 350-seat flexible Owen Theatre, follows two acclaimed recent appearances at the Donmar Warehouse and the Dublin Theatre Festival. The creative team includes Peter McKintosh (Set), Matt Daw (Lighting) and Christopher Shutt (Sound). Conor McPherson's Shining City is set for six performances in the Hollywood Fringe Festival, it was announced today by Hicks Street Productions. Under the direction of Thomas Barr, the cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Brian Foyster, Burt Grinstead, Eddie Kehler, and Kate Whitney. Set design is by Joel Daavid with lighting and sound design by Matthew Richter. Performances begin on June 2 at 8:30pm at the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Davidson/Valentini Theatre. (more...)

Brendan Coyle To Star In New Production Of Conor McPherson's ST NICHOLAS In The Donmar Warehouse's Dryden Street Studio Space

The Donmar Warehouse presents St Nicholas, a chilling one-man play by Conor McPherson, directed by Simon Evans and starring Brendan Coyle. This is the first time McPherson and Coyle have collaborated since The Weir, for which both received Olivier Awards. The performances will take place at the Donmar's intimate studio space at 3 Dryden Street from Monday 10 September - Friday 5 October 2018, and from Tuesday 9 October - Sunday 14 October 2018 at the Smock Alley Theatre, as part of Dublin Theatre Festival, which will be the play's Irish premiere.
