Sonia Friedman Productions today announced Conor McPherson's (The Weir, Girl from the North Country) new adaptation of Anton Chekhov's masterpiece Uncle Vanya directed by Ian Rickson (Jerusalem, The Seagull) which will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 14th January 2020 with Opening Night on Thursday 23rd January 2020. Tickets go on general sale from Monday 30th September with priority booking from Wednesday 25th September.

AboutFACE Ireland have announced the final selections for the 2018 NEWvember New Plays Festival Dublin – a showcase of original plays to be held at The New Theatre in Dublin's city centre, November 8-10 2018. The announcement was made by AboutFACE Co-Artistic Directors Anna Nugent and Paul Nugent. NEWvember Dublin will feature these works over a three-day weekend, presented via rehearsed readings. After 5 years of NEWvember Festivals in New York, this is the 2nd year the event will be held in Dublin. The spirit of NEWvember is to provide a dynamic, interactive and welcoming place where writers can hear their plays read by seasoned actors, and discuss their work and creative process. It was also announced that many of this year's playwrights will be in attendance, and will take part in post show Q&As, including writers travelling from the US.

Caught in a bind between the legal process and human compassion, can he hold fast to his own faith? In this familiar yet estranged city, a tragic story is revealed as the court case unfolds, highlighting the deficiency and pathos of urban survival. An Unjust Good Fellow is written by Callas Cheang and directed by Octavian Chan. At its 2017 premiere, the play received tremendous acclaim during its sold-out run. Actor Ng Ka Leung's portrayal of an Alzheimer's patient earned him a nomination as Outstanding Actor at the 9th Hong Kong Theatre Libre. The original cast returns for this revival, including newly crowned Golden Horse "Best Supporting Actor" Ben Yuen, Sung Boon Ho, Man Sui Hing and Ng Ka Leung. An Unjust Good Fellow will appear at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Studio Theatre from December 21st to 30th 2018. Tickets are now available for sale in URBTIX outlets.

Joey Folsom, Artistic Director of The Classics Theatre Project, today announced the formation of a permanent Resident Artists Company for the theatre to be underwritten by Liese and Mike Canterbury. The company members will be, in addition to Mr. Folsom, R. Andrew Aguilar, Sasha Maya Ada, Chad Cline, Stan Graner, Gretchen Hahn, N. Ryan McBride, Leslie Patrick, Van Quattro, Rachel Reininger and Dean Wray. The Resident Artists will fill many of the roles in the TCTP 3-play 2019 season: "Fool for Love," Summer and Smoke," and "The Crucible." In addition, the RAC members will work as members of the TCPT team in other areas of production, marketing, and development. The Company will be called the Canterbury Company of Resident Artists.
