Best of Broadway series at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center announced the shows for the 2020-2021 season today. The season will welcome five shows including: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (January 8-10, 2021); Oklahoma! (January 29-31, 2021); Fiddler on the Roof (March 19-21, 2021); and more!

The Best of Broadway series at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center announced the shows for the 2020-2021 season today. The season will welcome five shows including: Hairspray (December 4-6, 2020); Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (January 8-10, 2021); Oklahoma! (January 29-31, 2021); Fiddler on the Roof March 19-21, 2021); and Anastasia (May 14-16, 2021). All performances will be held at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.

May 4 marks the 50th anniversary of the shootings at Kent State University, one of the most tragic events in the history of anti-Vietnam War protests, when four unarmed students were killed by the National Guard. To commemorate this occasion, theaters around the country will live-stream locally produced Zoom performances of Rich Orloff's DAYS OF POSSIBILITIES, a documentary-style play based on true stories of Vietnam-era college students.

The 2020-2021 Peace Broadway Season at the Peace Center lineup boasts 10 titles, including the 2019 Tony Award winners for Best Musical (Hadestown) and Best Revival of a Musical (Oklahoma!), and three highly anticipated engagements returning by popular demand (Wicked, Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen).

Whitney Rowland's new play, Wayfinding, is a “magical realism melancholic comedy” that uses the concept of “time bending” to shape the characters' journeys to unexpected destinations. Jane (Sarah Wallis) is an emotionally-numbed new widow. Harrison (Ben Thorpe) is Les's (Charlie T. Thomas) inattentive, self-sabotaging fiancé. In seeking escape, these two strangers collide – both literally and figuratively – tangling their lifelines and setting them on a journey involving an intercontinental plane crash, a magical forest, and a choice that leads them both to an unexpected destination. Wayfinding runs through March 29, 2020 at Synchronicity Theatre.
