On Saturday, May 18th at 8PM at CMT Auditorium in New York City, the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony led by Maestro David Bernard, will perform the New York Premiere of an animated interpretation of Mussorgsky's 'Pictures at an Exhibition' set to live music.

The New School is proud to announce a series of free public events in recognition of the 80th anniversary of the Kindertransport movement, an organized rescue effort of Jewish children that took place in the months leading up to the outbreak of World War Two. This special multi-day program of performances, screenings, and panel discussions is a collaboration between The New School's College of Performing Arts, The New School for Social Research, the university's Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility, and The Kindertransport Association (KTA), a national not-for-profit organization that unites Kindertransport survivors and their descendants.

Delinquent Theatre presents the romantic and heart-wrenching world premiere of Never the Last, April 9-20, 2019, as part of the SeeMore Theatre Series at Vancouver Civic Theatre's Annex (823 Seymour Street). Inspired by the life story of Sophie-Carmen Eckhardt-Gramatte, an enormously innovative early twentieth century composer, the drama follows her 10-year marriage with the celebrated expressionist painter Walter Gramatte. Set to a live score of Eckhardt-Gramatte's solo violin works, the multimedia presentation blends movement and text to tell a heartbreaking tale of adventure, poverty, and strife.

In June and September 2019, the Philharmonia Orchestra and Esa-Pekka Salonen present Weimar Berlin: Bittersweet Metropolis at Southbank Centre, where it is Resident Orchestra. This new series is an ambitious journey through the music, science and culture of a period of intense political turbulence and explosive creativity in Germany and beyond.

The Frist Art Museum Presents DOROTHEA LANGE: POLITICS OF SEEING, an exhibition that examines a broad range of the artist's work through the lens of social and political activism. The Frist is the only U.S. venue that is hosting this exhibition after its 2017 debut in California. In addition to presenting Lange's iconic photographs from the Great Depression, the exhibition will feature works from her early years as a studio portraitist in San Francisco, along with images of the grim conditions of incarcerated Japanese Americans during World War II, naval shipyard workers of different sexes and races contributing to the patriotic cause, and inequity in our judicial system in the 1950s. Organized by the Oakland Museum of California, which houses Lange's personal archive, the exhibition will be on view in the Frist's Upper-Level Galleries from March 15 through May 27, 2019.

The Massapequa Philharmonic, under the direction of its music director David Bernard, continues its 2018-2019 season with a selection of dramatic works, including Beethoven's Overture to King Stefan, Schumann's Symphony No. 2 and Lalo's Cello Concerto featuring noted cellist Adrian Daurov.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company (CSC) announced the titles for its 2019-2020 Season at The Otto M. The London Philharmonic Orchestra today announced its 2019/20 season at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, confirming its reputation for bold, creative and distinctive programming that continues to inspire audiences on a journey of exploration and adventure. The London Philharmonic Orchestra has been performing at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall since it opened in 1951, becoming Resident Orchestra there in 1992.

The Des Moines Community Playhouse is the home of Second Saturday, an alternative Saturday night entertainment for young adults in grades 6-12. The next teen improv night is Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, from 7:30-10:00 PM.

In a concert inspired by adventure and Spanish exoticism, the Columbus Symphony will perform the Spanish Flamenco Festival at the newly renovated Palace Theatre on March 1 and 2. The auditorium of the 1926 historic venue received a six-month, $2.5 million facelift, and was reopened to the public in November 2018. Guest conducted by John Axelrod, musical director of the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra, the program will feature local flamenco star Griset Damas and the Flamenco Company of Columbus. The full program includes Turina's Danzas fantasticas, Falla's La Vida Breve: Danse Espagnole No. 1, and concludes with the enchanting, rhythmic vitality of Dvo?ak's richly melodic New World Symphony (Symphony No. 9).

Beck Center for the Arts is pleased to welcome The Print Club of Cleveland to its Jean Bulicek Gallery for the first time ever. General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler today announced the next production of Lyric Opera of Kansas City's Explorations Series, Mack The Knife is The Man I Love: A Weill-Gershwin Cabaret which will feature the songs of George and Ira Gershwin and Kurt Weill. The 2018-2019 Explorations Series performance, with musical direction by Mark Markham and stage direction by Fenlon Lamb, will showcase the Lyric Opera's Resident Artists, including Kaylie Kahlich, Kelly Birch, Joseph Leppek, and James Maverick, plus Apprentice Artists Ruby Dibble, Jonathan Ray, and Armando Contreras. The performance will be held February 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lyric Opera's Michael and Ginger Frost Production Arts Building.

Local author and researcher Hattie Beresford will discuss her engaging new history of the Community Arts Music Association (CAMA) of Santa Barbara in a free public talk at Santa Barbara Central Library's Faulkner Gallery on Saturday, January 19.
