Print Club Of Cleveland Celebrates Their Centennial At Beck Center For The Arts

Beck Center for the Arts is pleased to welcome The Print Club of Cleveland to its Jean Bulicek Gallery for the first time ever. Curated by Beck Center's Gallery Coordinator, Linda Merchant with help from The Print Club, the exhibition features a diverse range of prints from various artists spanning the years of 1927-2016.

Beck Center for the Arts will host an art reception for the exhibition on Friday, February 8, from 6-7:45 PM. All exhibitions and receptions are free and open to the public. Light hors d'oeuvres are available and a cash bar will be open. Once will be opening on the Mackey Theater main stage on the same night and running through February 24, tickets can be purchased here.

The Print Club first met in 1919 and was founded with the dual purpose of supporting the print collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art and to encourage individuals to collect fine prints. The club has grown to more than three hundred individuals. Neal Rains, President of The Print Club of Cleveland says, "The Print Club has commissioned a total of 120 prints for our members." As the oldest and most active organization of print collectors in the country, The Print Club enjoys an excellent reputation in the field of fine art. From the club's beginning it has supported the print collection of the museum by purchasing thousands of prints and drawings for the museum's collection. In addition, many club members have donated art works to the museum.

Rains says, "The distribution of a print is an eagerly anticipated occasion. The Presentation Prints are a quick survey of contemporary art. The Print Club is delighted to show a selection of these works to the Beck Center's audiences, as part of the club's centennial celebration."

Beck Center is located at 17801 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood, just ten minutes west of downtown Cleveland. Free onsite parking is available. For more information visit beckcenter.org or call Beck Center Customer Service at 216.521.2540 x10.
