ANNAPOLIS, MD – Kelley O'Connor will perform the evocative Neruda Songs by the American composer Peter Lieberson in concerts with the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts tonight, May 8 and tomorrow, May 9, 2015 at 8pm. Music Director José-Luis Novo will also conduct the orchestra in theManfred Overture by Robert Schumann and Symphony No. 5 by Jean Sibelius.

The Ruth Page Center for the Arts will hold its annual Ruth Page Gala at the Union League Club of Chicago, 65 W. Jackson Blvd., Saturday, May 16. The evening begins at 5:45 p.m. with a VIP Reception, followed by dinner and entertainment from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. Gal Co-Chairs are Sasha Gerritson and Sara Stewart Schumann. The evening, hosted by WGN News Anchor Micah Materre, will include two award presentations, the Cultural Ambassador Award presented to Mesirow Financial for 'Mesirow Financial Presents!,' and the Community Partner Award presented to the Union League Boys and Girls Clubs; live performances by Artist In-Residence Ruth Page Civic Ballet; and a live auction presented by auctioneer, Bart Darfler. A highlight of the live auction will be a trip for two to Cuba as part of a cultural exchange program between the Ruth Page School of Dance and Cuba's Escuela Nacional de Ballet.

One of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's (BSO) favorite guest conductors, Yan Pascal Tortelier returns to the podium to lead the Orchestra in Stravinsky's The Firebird Suite tonight, February 27 at 8 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Saturday, February 28 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore. Also on the program are Berlioz's Le Corsaire overture ('The Pirate'), Ravel's Trio for Piano, Violin and Cello and Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23, performed by pianist Louis Lortie, hailed by many as an authority on the music of Mozart. Lyric Opera of Chicago presents Mieczys?aw Weinberg's powerfully haunting opera, The Passenger, conducted by Sir Andrew Davis in a new-to-Chicago production by David Pountney. It opens on Tuesday, February 24 with six performances through Sunday, March 15. Performance dates are Feb. 24, 28, Mar. 4, and 9 at 7:30pm; and Mar. 12 and 15 at 2pm. The Passenger will be sung in Russian, German, Polish, French, Yiddish, Greek, Czech, and English with projected English translations.

The fourth release of material in the New York Philharmonic Leon Levy Digital Archives - the multi-year initiative to digitize the Orchestra's extensive archives, funded by the Leon Levy Foundation - has been completed, with all existing Philharmonic printed programs, from the first concert in 1842 to the present, now available online, and current printed programs being added every concert week.
