Novato Theater Company to Stage Broadway Classic CHICAGO

Novato Theater Company continues its 2017-208 season with Chicago, Broadway's longest-running American musical, with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and book by Ebb and Bob Fosse. Set in Prohibition-era Chicago, the musical is based on a 1926 play about actual criminals and their crimes. The story is a satire on corruption in the administration of criminal justice and the concept of the 'celebrity criminal'. Chicago includes memorable songs like 'All that Jazz,' 'When You're Good to Mama,' and 'All I Care About is Love.' (more...)

This ancient's inspiration became a gold mine for in 1962 for Composer/Lyricist Stephen Sondheim and authors Burt Shrevelove and Larry Gelbart of M A S H fame.
