Throughout Black History Month this February, many Chicago theatres will present productions honoring the Black experience featuring Black theatres and theatre-makers.

The 92nd Street Y, New York (92NY), one of New York's leading cultural venues, presents West-Eastern Divan Ensemble plays Dvořák, Mendelssohn, and more, on February 22, 2023 at 7:30 pm ET at the Kaufmann Concert Hall. The concert will also be available for viewing online for 72 hours from time of broadcast.

Tony & Grammy Award winner and Academy & Emmy Award nominee Leslie Odom, Jr. will star in the new Broadway production of the classic American comedy Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch by the legendary Ossie Davis.

The archives of The Ed Sullivan Show have opened again to share rare vintage performances by Louis Armstrong. Si Litvinoff, the visionary producer whose foresight in cinema art led to perennial classics such as Stanley Kubrick's “A Clockwork Orange,” Nicolas Roeg's “Walkabout”, 'The Man Who Fell to Earth,' starring David Bowie, and more passed away peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2022, in Los Angeles, California. He was 93.
