ZACH Theatre, Central Texas' premier professional theatre, announces six Mainstage productions along with the Family Series and holiday add-ons as part of the 2019-20 season. The Mainstage Season includes: Steven Dietz's new work Dracula: Mina's Quest, a 21st century look at the Bram Stoker classic; A Night with Janis Joplin returns celebrating the legendary rock goddess;  Every Brilliant Thing, Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe's touching and charming play; the timely and probing new work Roe by Lisa Loomer; the new immersive musical Reunion '85; and the quintessential family musical, Rodgers and Hammerstein's, The Sound of Music.

The Philippines' first full-length opera, National Artists Guillermo Tolentino and Felipe Padilla De Leon's most beloved 1957 opera, 'Noli Me Tangere' (Huwag Mo Salangin/Touch Me Not) returns to the Cultural Center of the Philippines' (CCP) main theatre, Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo, from March 8-10, 2019.

BroadwayWorld Detroit had a chance to speak with founders and married couple of The Ringwald Theatre, Joe Bailey and Brandy Joe Plambeck, to discuss the theatre, the show, and campy twists that everyone always expects from The Ringwald - the best part about the interview, BWW Detroit spoke with them each separately, so it was really fun to see where they think alike and differ!

New York City drag legend Lady Bunny is set to bring her holiday show The Stockings Were Hung to Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood for one performance only on Thursday, December 20, at 8:30pm, it was announced today by Chris Isaacson Presents.

Theatre in the Park's (TTIP) INDOOR presents a wonderful gift this holiday season with the festive tale of THE HAPPY ELF.  Composed by Grammy Winner and American Idol judge Harry Connick, this lively musical will entertain adults and children alike. THE HAPPY ELF opens Friday evening Dec. 7 for its 11-performance run through Dec. 22 in the Black Box Theater at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center (AHC) in Overland Park. Evening performances are 7:30 p.m. with matinee shows at 2 p.m. THE HAPPY ELF is rated G and is appropriate for the entire family.

This is an irreverent retelling with no apologies about what it is doing.  The performers know this, and camp it up to the level of… well… that drag queen who hosts the whole thing.

As something that started out as producer Alex Woodard's annual weird (and kinky) Christmas tradition, A Very Naughty Christmas The Second Coming is truly a sight to behold. Written by Matthew Semple and Emily Kristopher and directed by Dan Venz, Understudy Production's newest Christmas rave celebrates all that is fun, dirty and sexy about the festive season, really stripping it down for its audience. I don't think that I will be able to think of Santa in the same way ever again.

The Syracuse Stage and Syracuse University (SU) Department of Drama Holiday production is an annual tradition for many Central New Yorkers. This year, the family friendly holiday show Elf the Musical is the perfect start to the Holiday season. The production features fabulous SU drama students, local child performers, and accomplished equity actors. Director Donna Drake, last season's director of The Wizard of Oz, brings the comedy, the heart, and the holiday cheer to life with her fun and festive direction.

Elf the Musical is the perfect holiday treat. Whether you know the 2003 movie version that featured Will Ferrell or not, it doesn't matter. As a collaborative effort of the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine performed at the charmingly unique Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, this show is one of the best holiday themed productions I've ever seen. The setting, combined with a funny script, rollicking musical numbers, costumes in Christmas palette colors and outrageous dance numbers (you can't beat tap dancing elves and Santas!) this show is worth seeing.

Plaid Tidings is a show full of grand old Christmas songs delivered beautifully by four gifted vocalists.

Hampstead Theatre has announced the first three productions of 2019.

Spend the holiday season on the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus, with themed programming and family-friendly activities, including: returning favorites spanning rock, Gospel, jazz, and brass; treasured traditions from various Kimmel Center Resident Companies like the Pennsylvania Ballet, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and The Philly POPS; and opportunities for holiday community service and city-wide celebrations.

ABC celebrates the most wonderful time of the year with special '25 Days of Christmas' programming starting Dec. 1. The network joins Freeform, Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior in this fan-favorite TV event. The 'Kickoff to Christmas' begins in late November with perennial holiday treat 'Santa Claus is Comin' to Town.' The month of December is filled with special Christmas-themed episodes, the return of 'The Great Christmas Light Fight' and 'The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition,' and timeless animated classics and holiday films. The celebration continues after Christmas with New Year's-themed programming ringing in 2019.

The York Theatre Company presents the world premiere of the new musical comedy Christmas in Hell with book, music, and lyrics by Gary Apple ("The Simpsons"), with direction and choreography by Bill Castellino (Desperate Measures, York/New World Stages) and music direction, music supervision, and arrangements by Logan Medland (National Tours of Cats and Crazy for You). 

With Christmas around the corner, Freeform's beloved “25 Days of Christmas” programming event begins on DEC. 1. This year's holiday lineup event includes the premieres of Freeform Original Features “Life-Size 2,” with Tyra Banks and “grown-ish”'s Francia Raisa from airing SUNDAY, DEC. 2, at 9:00-11:00 p.m. EST/PST, and “No Sleep 'Til Christmas,” with Dave and Odette Annable airing MONDAY, DEC. 10, at 9:00-11:00 p.m. EST/PST. Additionally, the network will premiere the “Pop Up Santa Holiday Special” on MONDAY, DEC. 3, at 9:30-11:00 p.m. EST/PST, bringing Christmas cheer in unexpected places, and a new installment of “Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings: Holiday Magic” on SATURDAY, DEC. 8, at 8:00-9:00 p.m. EST/PST. Freeform joins ABC, Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior in celebrating “25 Days of Christmas” across all networks.
