Today, Jackie Lynn shares a new single for “Shugar Water,” a joyous, forward-moving call to arms taken from the band's recently announced, soon-to-be-released sophomore album Jacqueline, out April 10 via Drag City. Congratulations: You're old! You've been going to see Foo Fighters shows for 25 years now! What better way to celebrate than joining the band in commemorating its silver anniversary in some of the same cities where the first FF shows took place in 1995? Beginning April 12 at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix AZ, the Foo Fighters' 2020 Van Tour will do just that, hitting a number of the same spots that Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel and Pat Smear trailblazed in a Dodge van all those years ago—in arenas this time, because aside from many of those clubs on that 1995 trek having since ceased to exist, squeezing a 2020 FF show into the few that are still around would just be too insane…

Today, jazz virtuoso Stephen Bruner aka Thundercat releases “Dragonball Durag”, the second single from It Is What It Is, out April 3rd on Brainfeeder. The new track, produced by Thunder and Flying Lotus, encapsulates his love of humour in music and his passion for the cult Japanese animé Dragon Ball Z.

Mary Chapin Carpenter will embark on an extensive tour this summer including a series of headline performances—including a special concert at Wolf Trap on August 22—as well as an extensive run of shows with Sugarland as part of their THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD TOUR 2020. Last week Wynonna & The Big Noise teamed up with Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead for an exciting show at the legendary San Francisco venue The Fillmore. During the set they covered many classic tracks by both acts, including “Why Not Me” by The Judd's and “Ramble On Rose” by the Dead. “Well OK, this is a train that's been steamin' down the tracks for a while now - and it finally got here. What fun,” said Bob Weir of their set.

Composer Kurt Erickson has won First Prize in the National Association of Teachers of Singing 2020 Art Song Composition Award for his composition 'Here, Bullet (Song Set for Baritone and Piano)' based on poems written by Brian Turner during his time serving in the Iraq War.

Theatre fans need not travel all the way to New York City to get a taste of Broadway. Though the Big Apple boasts perhaps the freshest productions and greatest talents in the world, many of the most successful shows on Broadway will eventually hit the road- bringing and equally magical (though sometimes slightly updated) version of their production to cities across the country.

A field of top young vocalists from across North America offered thrilling performances as they competed in the 46th National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Artist Awards competition on Friday, January 10, 2020. The event culminated with tenor Matt Hill from Washington, DC, winning first place, earning more than $13,000 in cash and prizes. Hill is a student of Elizabeth Daniels and represents the NATS Mid-Atlantic Region.

Lauren Carr placed first in the NATS 2020 National Music Theater Competition on Saturday evening, January 11, in The Roosevelt Hotel Grand Ballroom in midtown Manhattan. A 2019 alumna of Elmhurst College, Carr collected $7,500 in cash and prizes. She currently studies with Jennifer Mather.

Today, multi-platinum Danish rock band Volbeat confirm 15 U.S. headlining dates on their  “Rewind, Replay, Rebound World Tour” this April and May, bringing the tour to cities including Las Vegas, Nashville, Atlanta, Baltimore, and New York City (full dates below). Barter Theatre's College Playwrights Festival is a one-act playwriting festival dedicated to celebrating college undergraduate playwrights, giving them an opportunity to develop their work in a professional environment. Houston Grand Opera (HGO) has selected the semifinalists for the 32nd annual Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers Concert of Arias, to be presented in the Wortham Theater Center on Feb. 7, 2020 at 7 p.m. A limited number of tickets for the performance are available for purchase here. Composer and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Parker's Suite for Max Brown will be released on January 24, 2020 via a newly formed partnership between International Anthem and Nonesuch Records. The album, named for and dedicated to Parker's mother, features nine original songs as well as “Gnarciss,” an interpretation of Joe Henderson's “Black Narcissus,” and John Coltrane's “After the Rain.” Parker plays the majority of the instruments on the record and also engineered most it at home or during his 2018 Headlands Center residency in Sausalito, CA. The album track “Go Away” debuted today.  Parker performs at this year's Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN on March 27, as well as spring dates in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, among others; the full schedule is below.
