The Broadway community mourns the loss of beloved performer, lyricist and women's healthcare advocate Phyllis Newman, who passed away on September 15, 2019 at age 86. To commemorate her life and work, the Committee of Theatre Owners will dim the lights of the American Airlines, Broadhurst, Helen Hayes, Lunt-Fontanne, Lyric, New Amsterdam, Samuel J. Friedman, St. James, and Vivian Beaumont Theatres in New York for one minute on Friday, September 27 at exactly 7:45pm.

Philadelphia Zoo Announces Fantastical New Holiday Light Experience

Philadelphia Zoo (3400 W. Girard Avenue) announces the grand opening of LumiNature Presented by JP Morgan Chase & Co. opening on November 20, 2019. This giant-sized fantastical holiday-season light experience will transform the entire Zoo by taking guests on a magical journey of lights, music, sounds and surprises - all designed to inspire and delight each and every night through January 5, 2020. LumiNature will feature 12 experiences that include hundreds of illuminated penguins, oversized bold-colored illuminated flowers, a 21-feet tall brilliant colored snake, giant cat eyes glowing in the dark of night, and a 25-foot tree made entirely of lit flamingo lawn ornaments! More experiences will be announced as Luminature's opening date approached. LumiNature will be Philadelphia's Zoo's first major night-time installation and also represents Philadelphia Zoo's first-ever major light and sound installation. Already when you enter the entrance you start to wonder what will happen here. You are greeted by half naked door men who smokes, the fog is tight in the foyer where people begin to gather. Inside the theater lounge there is a bar on the stage where the audience can order something to drink. The ensemble is joining the audience as they take their seats. The audience are supposed to feel like they are part of the show. The Three Penny Opera is a classic story about poor and dirty London with beggars, thieves and a corrupt police chief, and everything is circulating around Mac the Knife (Fredrik Lycke).

About the song the band told Post-Punk ''Too Late' was the first song that we finished together. The lyrics are mostly about being so invested and in love in a relationship, that the other person could really do nothing wrong and even if they did, you wouldn't be able to leave. But it also just words because they sounded good.'

Huntington Theatre Company announced today the cast and creative team for Quixote Nuevo, a comedic and poetic reimagining of Miguel Cervantes' Don Quixote by award-winning playwright Octavio Solis. Directed by KJ Sanchez and produced in association with Hartford Stage and the Alley Theatre, Quixote Nuevo will begin performances at the Avenue of the Arts/Huntington Avenue Theatre (264 Huntington Ave, Boston) on Friday, November 15, 2019 and will run through Sunday, December 8, 2019.
