The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA Los Angeles) has announced today that renowned British comedian James Veitch will host the 2019 British Academy Britannia Awards. Earlier this year, on April 22, The Phantom of the Opera, reached a milestone that no other Broadway show has even come near. Phantom, the longest-running show in Broadway history, became the first Broadway show EVER to reach #13,000 performances. This is just one of many incredible achievements made by the show since it opened on Broadway over three decades ago.

Once on This Island will play eight performances in the Peace Concert Hall, Nov. 5-10, 2019, as part of the Peace Center's 2019-2020 Broadway season.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, New York City Center's Principal Dance Company, returns to the theater's stage from December 4, 2019 a?' January 5, 2020. Artistic Director Robert Battle leads Ailey's 32 extraordinary dancers during this annual five-week engagement, which has become a joyous holiday tradition.  The repertory features more than two dozen diverse works by some of the world's preeminent choreographers, including world premieres by Donald Byrd and Ailey dancer and newly announced Resident Choreographer Jamar Roberts, company premieres by Aszure Barton and Camille A. Brown, and new productions by Judith Jamison and Lar Lubovitch.

The New York Pops will host its annual cabaret fundraiser at Feinstein's/54 Below on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 5:30 p.m.(performance at 6:30 p.m.) starring Tony and Drama Desk nominee Norm Lewis. The event is hosted by New York Pops Music Director Steven Reineke.

SHOWTIME has made a series commitment to an untitled musical drama series executive produced by multiple Grammy winner Alicia Keys and the Oscar, Tony and Grammy winning team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen, The Greatest Showman). Pasek and Paul will contribute music to the series. Kyle Jarrow (The SpongeBob Musical) will write and executive produce. Tony winner and Oscar nominated producer Marc Platt (Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, The Band's Visit, La La Land), Emmy winner R.J. Cutler (Nashville, American High), and Emmy winner Adam Siegel (Grease: Live!) will executive produce. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc.

Hetaira: A Mythic Cabaret sets dates for its New York City preview at 59E59 as part of its East to Edinburgh series before heading to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in July. The show will run July 13, 18, and 27 at 8:30 PM.

Ghostlight Records has announced that the new musical cast album Alice By Heart is available for digital download and streaming today Friday, June 28. The CD release is planned for later this year. Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) and Broadway Across America (BAA) announced today that new 2019-2020 season subscription packages are now available to the general public. Pop-culture phenomenon DEAR EVAN HANSEN and Disney's FROZEN anchor the nine-show season made up of Tony Award winners, acclaimed revivals, North Texas premieres and beloved family favorites.

The Recording Academy announced today its newly elected National Officers of the Board of Trustees, voted upon at the organization's annual spring Board of Trustees meeting in May. Record producer Harvey Mason Jr. has been elected as the Chair of the Board of Trustees, and managing partner of Placement Music Tammy Hurt will serve as Vice Chair. Veteran music executive Terry Hemmings was re-elected Secretary/Treasurer and recording artist and founder/CEO of Swan Songs Christine Albert assumes the position of Chair Emeritus. All officer appointments were effective on June 1, 2019.

Monday, June 24 through Saturday, August 31, 2019, the Spreckels Organ Society and Artistic Director Raul Prieto Ramirez present the 32nd annual San Diego International Organ Festival at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion, eleven concerts featuring international talent pushing the artistic boundaries of a traditional sound in Balboa Park's most majestic open air setting.

Last year, NBC announced that its next live musical would be Hair, airing in spring 2019. In July, the network scheduled the event for Sunday, May 19. When Sunday rolls around, however, Hair Live! won't be airing, because in February, NBC shelved the live musical permanently.
