An exciting new work of theatre will burst onto the local arts scene in April with the musical 'Vilna: A Resistance Story' - a partnership production by The Lewis and Shirley White Theatre at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City (The J) and The Culture House.

Kentucky Opera announces its 23/24 season. All four operas will be sung in English, with performances in The Brown Theatre and the Opera Center. Appearing on the Kentucky Opera stage for the first time since 2010 is Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel. An opera filled with curiosity and adventure follows two young children in their quest to save themselves and the gingerbread children from the wicked witch. Kentucky Opera's Youth Chorus will be featured in this vivid, larger than life production.

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center has announced its 2023-24 season, which celebrates the passing of the artistic torch and the theme of Legacy, with the final farewell concerts of two esteemed American string quartets, both with long histories at CMS.

After an extensive international search, Asolo Repertory Theatre's Board of Directors has selected Peter Rothstein as the new incoming producing artistic director. Rothstein has accepted a five-year contract and will assume the role on July 1, 2023, following the planned departure of Michael Donald Edwards on June 30, 2023.

Opera Orlando is giving back this holiday season with special outreach activities and initiatives in conjunction with the company's Opera on Tour production of Peter Rothstein's critically-acclaimed All is Calm: the Christmas Truce of 1914 and with its annual Soup Opera presented by the Opera Orlando Youth Company. 

The holidays have arrived and the troops are falling in line for the first stop on their tour of Opera Orlando's production of All is Calm: the Christmas Truce of 1914. In just four days, this beautifully moving and critically-acclaimed work will be presented on the historic Polk Theatre stage marking Opera Orlando's first production ever presented in Lakeland.

Opera Orlando remounts its 2019 production of the critically-acclaimed All is Calm: the Christmas Truce of 1914 this holiday season, welcoming back some familiar faces and new cast members.

=Opera Orlando goes On Tour with its production of Peter Rothstein's critically-acclaimed All is Calm: the Christmas Truce of 1914. This poignant and moving work retells the historic World War I events of Christmas Eve in 1914 through actual soldiers' letters and official military correspondence, interwoven with old war songs and carols. 

​​​​​​​Vanguard Productions, presents their inaugural production, a concert version of All is Calm the Christmas Truce of 1914 by Peter Rothstein with vocal arrangements by Erick Lichte and Timothy C. Takach.

The Harmon & Harriet Kelley Collection of African American Art: Works on Paper, an exhibition that celebrates 54 African American artists and their tremendous contributions to U.S. art and culture, continues at Bedford Gallery through December 18.

Open Window Theatre will present The Originalist, by John Strand, directed by Stephen O’Toole, September 30 through October 30 at Open Window Theater. Theater Latté Da today announces Bethany Brinton, Crystal Manich and Celeste Moreno as the recipients of the NEXT Generation Commission in 2022, furthering Theater Latté Da's commitment to providing opportunities for women artists and BIPOC artists. The NEXT Generation Commission supports the creation and development of new musical theatre projects whose creative teams are at least 50% women artists or BIPOC artists. The creative team will share the $20,000 commission.
