Manca poco meno di un mese all'evento teatrale piu atteso da tutta la comunita teatrale di tutto il mondo: il 9 giugno infatti, al Radio City Music Hall di New York, si svolgera la 73esima edizione dei Tony Awards. Per la seconda volta, James Corden sara il presentatore di questa serata, dopo aver ricevuto un Emmy Award per la sua performance nel 2016. Il 30 aprile, Bebe Neuwirth e Brandon Victor Dixon hanno annunciato i nomi delle opere teatrali (play e musical) in diretta streaming. Noi di BroadwayWorld non stiamo piu nella pelle! Ma soprattutto non possiamo stare con le mani in mano e, per il bene comune, vogliamo parlarvi un po' dei protagonisti di quest'anno: attori e spettacoli per lo piu poco noti in Italia ma che rappresentano, senza ombra di dubbio, il meglio di questa nuova stagione di Broadway. Memorial Set For Mark Bramble At Washington College

Mark Bramble, the American theatre director, author and producer died on February 20, 2019 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore following complications related to cardiovascular hypertension.  He was 68 years old.  His passing was reported by his long-time business manager and friend, Richard Koenigsberg.

Japan Society Presents Akiko Kitamura's CROSS TRANSIT

Japan Society proudly presents Cross Transit, a collaborative multimedia dance work by acclaimed Japanese choreographer/dancer Akiko Kitamura, with video, photos and narration by Cambodian visual artist Kim Hak. Cross Transit arrives at Japan Society (333 East 47th Street) for two performances only: Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23 at 7:30pm, as part of a North American tour, produced and organized by Japan Society, that includes stops at Towson University (North American Premiere; March 15; Asian Arts & Culture Center / Stephen Halls Theatre) and The Kennedy Center (March 19).

Broadway Director, Author & Producer Mark Bramble Passes Away at 68

Mark Bramble, the American theatre director, author and producer died yesterday (February 20, 2018) at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore following complications related to cardiovascular hypertension according to the physician on call. He was 68 years old. His passing was reported by his long-time business manager and friend, Richard Koenigsberg.

Woodie King, Jr.'s New Federal Theatre (NFT) has scheduled talk backs to follow five matinee performances of 'Looking for Leroy' by Larry Muhammad, a two-character play that reflects on the legacy of the late Leroi Jones/Amiri Baraka.  Baraka was a leading dramatist the 20th century who defined the role of the Black playwright for our age.  NFT is presenting the world premiere of this play February 28 to March 31 at Castillo Theater, 543 West 42nd Street. 

Transport Group Gala To Feature LaChanze, Mary Testa, Betsy Wolfe, and More

Transport Group has announced that its annual A Toast to the Artist gala will honor Tony Award-winning orchestrator Michael Starboin and composer Carmel Dean with the Transporting American Theatre Award. The evening takes place Monday, March 11 at 6:30pm at The Current, Pier 59 @ Chelsea Piers, and includes a cocktail party, seated dinner, performances, dessert reception, and silent and live auctions. The Transporting American Theatre Award recognizes significant contributions to the American Theatre. Past recipients of the Transporting American Theatre Award include Dick Scanlan, Mary- Mitchell Campbell, Michael John LaChiusa, Gretchen Shugart, Barbara Whitman, Beth Williams, Sue Frost, Christian Borle, Paul Huntley, Douglas Carter Beane, Lewis Flinn, A.R. “Sunrise” Inc. and Fathom Events Bring Hit Japanese Mecha Anime To U.S. Movie Theaters

Following a successful run in its native Japan, animated Mecha film 'Mobile Suit Gundam NT (Narrative)' is coming to the U.S. with a new English-language dub for one night in February. Produced by Sunrise Inc.'s 1st Studio, directed by Toshikazu Yoshizawa and written by Harutoshi Fukui (“Mobile Suit Gundam UC”), 'Mobile Suit Gundam NT” is a new work in the Universal Century saga and depicts what lies beyond 'Gundam UC.'

Birdland mainstays Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch return to Birdland Theater with 'The Sunday Set,' an evening of swinging standards Sundays, February 3, 10 and 17, with shows at 7:30pm. Bassist Steve Doyle will join the duo. Caruso and Stritch, who have performed extensively on their own, gained national exposure together as the host and musical director of the wildly popular open mic, Cast Party, which celebrates talent every Monday at Birdland in NYC, and tours nationally. The duo has also received critical acclaim during their seven years at Bemelmans at The Carlyle Hotel, and made international news when rock legend Bono joined them in an impromptu performance. Christine Ebersole Makes Broadway at The Huntington Debut

Two-time Tony Award-winning actress Christine Ebersole performs at the Huntington Theatre Company for one night only alongside SIRIUS/XM Radio star Seth Rudetsky as music director and host on Saturday, January 26 at the Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. Performance times are 5pm and 8pm. Produced by Mark Cortale Productions, the performance is the second installment of the new 'Broadway @ the Huntington' series which brings Boston audiences up close and personal with Broadway artists.
