The International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) announces their spring 2019 season concerts. Engagements this spring include performances of Tyshawn Sorey's Perle Noire: Meditations For Josephine featuring rising soprano Julia Bullock at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Miller Theatre Composer Portraits of Wang Lu and Tyshawn Sorey, three performances at the 2019 Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, and Silent Voices: Lovestate with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus at The New Victory Theater in NYC. The Ensemble also continues its partnerships with the New York Public Library and Nokia Bell Labs Experiments in Art and Technology throughout the spring.

Ensemble for the Romantic Century is proud to announce that the 2018 - '19 season, ERC's 18th, will continue January 3rd with Maestroby Eve Wolf. Opening Night is set for January 14th. This limited Off-Broadway engagement runs through February 9th only. Performances will be at The Duke on 42nd Street (229 West 42nd Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues).

In January 2019, Japan Society's Contemporary Dance Festival: Japan + East Asia brings groundbreaking artists from the other side of the globe to New York audiences, in two performances only: Friday, January 4 and Saturday, January 5 at 7:30pm. Presented as part of Japan Society's 2018-2019 Performing Arts Season, the Contemporary Dance Festival, in the tradition of its forerunner, the Contemporary Dance Showcase, which over the course of two decades enjoyed 17 action-packed installments, celebrates defining artists of the present moment – this year featuring three revelatory and robust works from Japan, Taiwan and Korea, in a highly selective program assembled by the Society's Artistic Director Yoko Shioya.

'Orphaned Songs for Orphaned Starfish' - a concert of composer Stephen Schwartz (Monday, November 19 at The Cutting Room), was an evening of unsung/cut songs from Wicked, Pippin, Working, and Children of Eden along with a new duet from the stage production of The Prince of Egypt. The concert also included some favorites from The Bakers Wife, Magic Show, Pippin, Pocahontas, Wicked and his opera Seance On a Wet Afternoon. The benefit evening for The Orphaned Starfish Foundation raised over $60,000.

Last night, Renee Taylor won the annual The United Solo Special Award, which recognizes artists who have made significant recent contributions to solo theatre during the year, for her critically acclaimed autobiographical comedy MY LIFE ON A DIET. Along with Ms. Taylor, this year's nominees included Derek DelGaudio (In & Of Itself), Alison S. M. Kobayashi (Say Something Bunny!), John Lithgow (Stories By Heart), Chita Rivera (An Evening with Chita Rivera) and Bruce Springsteen (Springsteen on Broadway).

Singers Jane Monheit, Jim Caruso and singer/pianist/arranger Billy Stritch will join forces in HOLLYWOODLAND: Songs >From The Silver Screen. Material will include beloved songs like "Pennies From Heaven," "Let's Misbehave," "Over The Rainbow," "If I Only Had A Brain," "Bye Bye Baby," and "It Happened In Sun Valley." Jane Monheit, Jim Caruso and Billy Stritch had such a great time working together in the Jazz at Lincoln Center concert series, and were thrilled when Birdland offered them a weeklong booking on the historic stage. The trio brings a wealth of musical experience to HOLLYWOODLAND, and they love performing tightly harmonized swing arrangements and lush ballads from the 30's, 40's and 50's.
