The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre’s 2023 Season – theatre’s 29th of bringing live Broadway-style entertainment to the Mid-Maryland region – will kick off in January with the classic musical that brings the Arthurian legend to life on the stage, Lerner and Loewe’s Camelot.

Michael Childers “One Night Only' celebrates its 16th year in the desert with “New York, New York” on November 9, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. This year’s theme is all about New York in all its glory from Harlem and the Cotton Club to Broadway and 42nd Street to Studio 54. One of Agatha Christie's most intriguing and acclaimed who dunnits comes to The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre this fall in a brand new stage adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express from Tony Award-winning playwright Ken Ludwig. The show will open on September 9th and run through the fall.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 51st season with the hit musical Ragtime. This sweeping and stirring musical masterpiece paints a portrait of America at the dawn of the twentieth century, interweaving the lives of three families—an African American family, a Jewish Immigrant family, and a wealthy white family—finding their places and pursuing the American Dream in a rapidly changing world. Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Terrence McNally (Master Class, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink) and a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once on This Island, Anastasia, Seussical The Musical), this musical is based on E. On Monday, June 6th, Second Stage Theater will host the Fair Chance Job Fair. Fair Chance Hiring means that employers refrain from including questions about conviction history in the application process before a job offer is made.

When the award-winning actress and playwright, Jodi Long, took her first steps on the Broadway stage in Sidney Lumet's production of “Nowhere to Go But Up,” she was entering a professional world that ran through her family's bloodline. Her Vaudevillian parents had long trod the boards – in fact, as part of a popular song and dance act, they even appeared on the Ed Sullivan show in the 1950s.

Second Stage Theater has announced that Deeksha Gaur has joined the Company’s Board of Directors as a Trustee. Additionally, the Board is announcing the appointment of Janet Lynne Knopf, who joined the Board as a Trustee during the pandemic shutdown.

Yale Repertory Theatre will conclude its 2022 season with Between Two Knees. The play, written by the intertribal sketch comedy troupe The 1491s and directed by Eric Ting, is presented with Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Between Two Knees will be performed May 12–June 4 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street).

Goodspeed Musicals will kick off its first full season of musicals since 2019 with the spring production of Kander and Ebb’s dazzling and daring classic, Cabaret. The Kit Kat Klub comes alive for the first time on the Goodspeed stage from May 13 – July 3 at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre is preparing for a heartwarming romantic comedy this fall when its production of the Broadway classic The Pajama Game takes to the stage.  Opening Friday, September 10th, the production was rescheduled from earlier this season. 

For only four performances the past two weekends, the Châtelet in Paris was alive again with the sound of musicals we’ve been missing so much here. Boasting 2300 performances, and no less than four revivals on Broadway, Man of La Mancha ranks among the most performed musicals around the world. The book is by Dale Wasserman, based on his own teleplay on the fictional life of Don Quixote and that of his creator Cervantes, a very melodic score by Mitch Leigh, his first musical effort and his only big success, and lyrics by Joe Darion, which gave us at least two standards, the title song and “The Impossible Dream”, the latter recorded not only by Jacques Brel but by Johnny Halliday and Julien Clerc.
