by BWW News Desk - January 03, 2020
Catch the final performances of Seattle's beloved and improbably successful Bohemia before it heads to Europe for an engagement at the Ballhaus Berlin. The illustrious Triple Door transforms into 1890s Prague in Bohemia, a story about love, classical music, art nouveau, green fairies and absinthe. Presented by Opal Peachey and Mark Siano, this musical combines live orchestral music from composers Antonín Dvořák and Frédéric Chopin, with original musical works by Mark Siano and Dayton Allemann. The set and costumes are inspired by the art of Alphonse Mucha; and historic artists Sarah Bernhardt and George Sand interweave with beautiful green fairies, aerial numbers, dance, burlesque, classical piano battles, comedy, and new and original songs.

BWW Review: SUMMER at the Paramount - A Raucous Party with No Story
by Jay Irwin - January 01, 2020
a?oeSummer, The Donna Summer Musicala?? opened last night, New Year's Eve, at the Paramount like a shiny ball descending on Seattle signifying the new year. But just like the ball dropping and switching from one year to the next, it amounted to very little other than a reason to party. With a book that feels like a story conveyed by a 6-year-old with severe ADHD and staging so bad that it actually made me laugh out loud at one point, this flashy tale of the life of a Disco Diva, filled with mirror balls, strobe lights, and even a car chase on stage, falls squarely into the realm of a?oewhat were they thinking?!a??

by BWW News Desk - December 30, 2019
Mary McCann's two-month exhibit of oils on panels continues through February 29 in the BPA Gallery. In this body of work Mary explores outcomes of events in the geologic story of our planet Earth. Ocean floors spread. Tectonic plates move. Continents collide. Subduction thrusts up great mountains. Huge land masses slide past one another. One side drops. Another side rises. Unimaginable pressure squeezes rock and rearranges crystalline structure. Millions of years pass - the Precambrian, the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic. These transformations require time that humans cannot comprehend.
