THE COLOR PURPLE Auditions Held at Tacoma Musical Playhouse

Tacoma Musical Playhouse announces auditions for African-American singer/actors, age 16 and older, for the region's first, locally-produced production of THE COLOR PURPLE!

Auditions will be held at TMP - 7116 6th Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98406
Email maria@tmp.org for an appointment. (Include full name, age and good contact number)

Prepare two contrasting songs from musical theater. Bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist is provided. No a cappella or recorded accompaniment auditions. An appointment is required to audition at TMP. Please do not sing songs from the show. The roles of "Celie" and "Shug Avery" have been cast. All other roles are available. PERFORMANCES:
There will be 15 performances of this production.
March 9 - April 1, 2012
Fridays & Saturday at 8 pm; Sundays at 2pm
Saturday March 24 & 31 at 2 pm
Special Mid-Week School Group Matinee: March 14th at 9:30 am

Rehearsals will begin approximately January 23, 2012.

CALLBACK AUDITIONS WILL TAKE PLACE IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE GENERAL AUDITION AT 7 PM.
Actors who auditioned at the July Season General Auditions will not need to re-audition.

FOR YOUTH PERFORMERS - AGE 8-15 years:
Parents of interested African-American youth actors age 8-15 years old should email with the following information:
· Name of child
· Birthdate
· Gender
· Height
· Headshot or current photo
· Résumé or performance bio, if available
· Parent contact phone number (cell preferred)
