BWW speaks to Paul Cattermole about his upcoming tour dates in Scotland with Rocky Horror Show.

How would you describe The Rocky Horror Show to someone who has never seen it before?

I think the best way I could describe it is a 1950s B movie, science fiction love story with cross-dressing.

Were you a fan of the show before you were cast?

Yes, I was a fan of the show - I loved it! So I'm having a great time being part of it now.

How long have you been performing as Eddie/Dr Scott?

I've been performing as Eddie/Dr Scott for about six months now.

Rocky Horror has such a dedicated fanbase - does that add any pressure to your performance?

Yes, I would say it adds a different layer of pressure. The fanbase is so huge and loyal for The Rocky Horror Show, they really love it - so you don't want to let them down.

What makes Rocky Horror so timeless?

It's a brilliant show with so many excellent moments, and because of the audience interaction, it almost feels like a different show each night.

How are you planning to spend your downtime in Glasgow and Aberdeen?

If I do get some downtime, I'll hopefully see some sights, and of course you can't go to Scotland with out having a single malt (whiskey)!

You can see Paul Cattermole in The Rocky Horror Show at the King's Theatre, Glasgow from August 8th-13th and at His Majesty's Theatre, Aberdeen from September 5th-10th.
