The Conservatory Celebrates The New Year With GRUESOME PLAYGROUND INJURIES

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory will start 2020 with the surprisingly delightful Gruesome Playground Injuries, a contemporary play by 2010 Pulitzer Prize finalist, Rajiv Joseph. Ashley Teague directs the story of two people and the unique relationship they build over a lifetime of injuries, both physical and emotional. This sharp-witted and dark comedy will run from January 1 a?' 19, in the Cook Theatre with a pay-what-you-can (minimum $5) preview night on December 31.
Andy Sandberg Named Artistic Director And CEO Of Hermitage Artist Retreat Following Nationwide Search

The board of the Hermitage Artist Retreat in Florida announced today that the organization has chosen Andy Sandberg as its Artistic Director and Chief Executive Officer as of January 1, 2020. Sandberg succeeds Bruce Rodgers, who is retiring after serving as the Hermitage's Executive Director since 2005. Sandberg, an accomplished director, writer, and Tony Award-winning producer whose national and international career has been committed to new work and artist development, was selected following an extensive national search. In his new role, Sandberg will be responsible for overseeing the organization's operations, artistic programs, administration, and strategic plan.

THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, is pleased to announce a lottery ticket policy for the National Tour, which begins Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota and plays a limited eight-show engagement through Sunday, January 12, 2020. In Sarasota, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the box office, making a limited number of tickets available at $25 apiece.
