In this one-hour, San Francisco premier, irreverent sermon for artists, “Mine for the Tribe”, writer/performer Chris Smith challenges the audience to understand and support mental health in artists. Through characters from his past and information he found that brings the artist’s purpose and psychology, Chris goes from funny to informative to loving to terrifying to calling to action in just under an hour. This show asks “If art is so important to culture, why aren’t we helping the artist?” The show has been performed in 2024 in Sacramento, was a part of the Atlanta Audio Fringe in May 2025, just finished a run at the Hollywood Fringe where it received an Encore Presentation at the Actors Company and a Splash Award from NAMBA Performing Arts Space for Excellence in Cultural Arts Performance. The performances for this touring solo show in San Francisco will be at the Potrero Stage, 1695 18th St, San Francisco, CA 94107 and steaming online. Tickets range from $0-30 for live or streaming.
