Last Cabaret Sunday Moves To Lamb's Players Theater In Coronado 4/26

Lamb's Players Theatre's popular Last Sunday Cabaret has outgrown The Palace Bar in the Horton Grand Hotel in downtown San Diego. Held the last Sunday of each month, this event will now take place at Lamb's Players Theatre in Coronado. The next performance will be held on April 26 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm.

South Coast Repertory is proud to present the world Premiere of Richard Greenberg's OUR MOTHER'S BRIEF AFFAIR. The new play is about two adult siblings who reunite to tend to their elderly mother and their astonishment to learn about her long-ago love affair. Commissioned by SCR and directed by Pam Mackinnon, Our Mother's Brief Affair runs April 3 through May 3 on the Segerstrom Stage. Low-priced previews are available from April 3 through April 9. Opening night is April 10. Press night is Saturday, April 11 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets to OUR MOTHER'S BRIEF AFFAIR are $20-$54 for previews and $28-$64 for regular performances. Lamb's Players Theatre will be holding auditions on April 18, 2009 for Godspell, the next show to be produced at the theatre's new space downtown at the Horton Grand Theatre. Directing the show is LPT's Producing Artistic Director Robert Smyth, with musical direction by G. Scott Lacy. Auditions will be held at Lamb's Players Theatre at 1142 Orange Avenue in Coronado, CA.

Diversionary Theatre's fifth production of the 2008-2009 season is the parable Facing East by noted LDS (Latter Day Saints) author Carol Lynn Pearson. A Mormon couple confronts the limits of their spiritual teachings upon the suicide of their gay son. The Salt Lake Tribune wrote of the play, which premiered at Plan-B Theatre Company in Salt Lake City in November 2006, 'A tightly-wound domestic tragedy...freshly relevant...dares to ask important questions about faith, death and survival.' In 2007, Variety said of Plan-B's tour (Off-Off Broadway and San Francisco), 'A vivid rumination on grief.'

Two Youth Performing Arts Workshops Offered By Lamb's Players 6/22-27, 7/6-18

Lamb's Players Theatre is providing youth with two performing arts workshop opportunities this summer at the theatre in Coronado. The workshops are one to two weeks in length and provide children with an opportunity to explore creativity and storytelling in a professional theatre setting. The Introductory Workshop takes place June 22 - 27 and is designed for children who have completed the 3rd - 5th grades. The Advanced Musical Theatre Workshop runs for two weeks, July 6 - 18, and is tailored to 12 - 18 year olds.
