Celebration Arts Closes Mahalia 1/22

Celebration Arts presents Mahalia, a gospel musical by Tom Stolz.

Where: Celebration Arts Theatre is located at 4469 D Street, Sacramento, CA 95819.

When: Opens December 3, 2010 and shows Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. through January 22, 2011. There will be no performance on December 5, 24, 25, 26, 31, January 1, 2.

Gospel singer Mahalia Jackson, achieved world wide fame delivering powerful, spirit filled songs that lifted and inspired her audiences. A humble and deeply religious woman, she climbed out of meager beginnings in New Orleans to appearances before presidents, royalty and huge throngs of admirers. This musical celebrates her and tells her story. The production features Elise Reese, Elaine Douglas and James Wheatley.
