Winner of the 1989 Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, THE HEIDI CHRONICLES is a seminal, feminist classic. Comprised of a series of interrelated scenes, the play traces the coming of age of Heidi Holland, a successful art historian, as she tries to find her bearings in a rapidly changing world. Heidi's ever changing landscape is shaped by the people in her life and through her relationships. Her best friend Susan, who moves with the changing tides of the 80s into the 90s, her romantic relationship with journalist/lawyer Scoop, who marries for money unable to accept Heidi's independence, and her friend and soulmate Peter, a gay man who challenges Heidi's cynicism, Playwrights Horizons, New York City, first produced THE HEIDI CHRONICLES Off-Broadway in 1988 following a workshop production by the Seattle Repertory Theatre. Produced on Broadway by the Shubert Organization, Suntory International Corp., and James Walsh in association with Playwrights Horizons.
Reverie Theatre Group is at 134 Mathewson St Providence, RI, Providence, RI.
