Gamm Theatre's 1984 Offers Orwell Extras, 5/6-20

The Gamm Theatre opens its production of 1984, George Orwell's famous novel newly adapted for the stage by Nick Lane, directed by Tony Estrella, next Thursday, April 26. The show runs through May 27 and includes several extra, behind-the-scenes offers along the way. These exciting community discussions will surround The Gamm's staging of George Orwell's 1984. Forums will immediately follow Sunday matinee performances of1984 (show attendance is encouraged but not required).

Viola Davis to Receive 2012 Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts

Amgen Foundation Funds Gamm Theatre Outreach Program

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre, a professional, nonprofit theater company in Pawtucket, RI, has received a grant of $10,000 from the Amgen Foundation, the charitable arm of Amgen Inc. The grant is in support of The Gamm's education outreach program, Pawtucket Literacy and Arts for Youth (PLAY).

THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a new musical based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, will make its Providence premiere through Sunday, March 25 at the Providence Performing Arts Center as part of the 2011/2012 Broadway Series. Tony Award nominee Douglas Sills and Sara Gettelfinger will star as Gomez and Morticia in a principal cast that also includes Tony Award nominee Martin Vidnovic as Mal Beineke, two-time Tony Award nominee Crista Moore as Alice Beineke, Blake Hammond as Uncle Fester, Pippa Pearthree as Grandma, Tom Corbeil as Lurch, Patrick D. Kennedy as Pugsley,Brian Justin Crum as Lucas Beineke and Cortney Wolfson as Wednesday.
